Transcript
00:00 Hello, it's Martin Dempster, the Scotsman Golf correspondent here coming to you from
00:09 Nassau in the Caribbean.
00:12 Speaking to you the day after the completion of the 2023 Hero World Challenge hosted by
00:20 Tiger Woods, won on this occasion by world number one Scottish Sheffler.
00:27 The American recorded his third win of the year as he completed a three shot success
00:33 at the Albany course here in the Bahamas.
00:39 It's been a terrific year for Sheffler, he's been the man that topped those rankings for
00:45 most of the year.
00:46 He had a bit of a dip in the middle of the season when he was struggling with his putter,
00:51 but since linking up with Englishman Phil Kenyon he's made great strides in that department
00:57 and he's certainly looking forward to a big 2024.
01:02 He's played in the Scottish Open the last three times, still to decide if he'll be back
01:08 at the Renaissance Club next July for that event, the Olympics in August in France is
01:16 complicating matters slightly on this occasion, but I think we'll see Sheffler there with
01:23 Rory McIlroy, the defending champion, having already said he'll be there.
01:28 Big week ahead in golf, the RNA and USGA are making an announcement on Wednesday about
01:35 a rollback of the golf ball and that's going to be universal across the game by the sounds
01:40 of things.
01:41 So keep in touch with all golf matters by logging on to thescotsman.com or buying the
01:47 Scotsman.
