Two families on opposite sides of a street have turned their homes into a Christmas wonderland that brings joy to youngsters every year.

Dean Thomas and his brother-in-law, Ashley Forward, spend their evenings greeting passers-by who travel for miles just to see their festive lights on Condor Grove.

It's all done for charity - this year they are asking for donations to the North West Air Ambulance and the Blue Skies Hospital Fund.

00:15 It's a family tradition, my kids love it and we just like seeing kids smile all the time and
00:23 making people happy. There's loads of places now that do it but we're just two brothers,
00:30 in-laws that just love it for kids and families. This year it's going to be two and a half weeks,
00:37 normally it's about eight weeks start to finish. So why only two and a half weeks?
00:42 Because I decided, last year we decided that we weren't going to do it for a charity,
00:48 I wanted a Christmas with my kids inside and just going to do a little one but people have
00:54 asked me to do it and the brother-in-law's asked me so we thought, do you know what,
00:59 we'll just do it to brighten the kids Christmas up. Just love Christmas, it's absolutely amazing.

01:20 We just started off something little you know to please the children. Our first one was a giant
01:25 snow globe with snow inside it and people just kept giving me different bits of things
01:33 to add to the collection and stuff and it just sort of escalated and then my son sort of took
01:39 over because I got to the stage, I was getting a bit older and I don't like ladders so I don't
01:44 like climbing and then he said can I have a go but he is so clever at doing the lights and wiring up
01:51 and everything and he's like the rocking horse. We got this from a gentleman in Preston, he said
01:56 if you can make it work you can have it. I sat for a couple of days, took it apart, rewired it
02:03 put a new motor on it, off it goes. And we like to see the children smile, we have so many children.
02:09 This little girl came the other night, she'd been coming with her grandmother since she was born
02:13 and she's alive. So how much is a recommended donation? Anything from 10p up, we do not mind.
02:22 As long as it goes in the book, every penny counts towards these charities. It's surprising what
02:28 the hospitals and things like that need. There's not a lot of people who's got a lot of money about
02:32 but every little penny counts for the North West Air Ambulance. So what should people do then?
02:39 Well you can drive past or you can walk past and we've got a charity box outside.
02:50 If we're not outside you can always knock on my door and we'll come out and speak to you.
02:59 This year North West Air Ambulance have donated a brew on the crew and they've got Christmas
03:05 baubles where you can write a message for the crew and we'll go and put them on their tree
03:09 and you can have a bauble to go on your tree off North West Air Ambulance. What's the brew on the
03:14 crew? It's just a tea bag and it's just to say thank you to everybody who comes.
