00:07 But he also wants you to know your legal rights if an accident happens when using one of the rideshare companies
00:12 Good morning Lloyd. How are you doing? Great. So, you know gatherings are going on
00:16 I love that the thing you said is that you want people to get there safely
00:19 You you are an accident lawyer, but you don't want them to have the accident get into those parties
00:24 Yeah, but also to people need to know their rights and what's going on when they use those ride shares
00:29 Which is so important because I mean they have accidents and so let's let's talk about that
00:34 Get into your get into one accident happens who's liable. Where's whose insurance what happens?
00:40 So there's basically three levels of insurance on uber and lyft
00:44 Vehicles and so it's if they're waiting in there's no they haven't accepted a ride or anything
00:50 That's it's usually a twenty five thousand dollar policy
00:53 Just the minimum if they're waiting for a ride and just and or and just wait
00:58 You know their apps on then it's fifty thousand Wow, so goes up significantly and then if they're actually
01:05 Accepting a ride and actually going to or coming from so we have to check the metadata
01:09 And to see what's going on, you know
01:12 we're what it was actually happening at the time because it's not just the safety of our
01:18 Clients when they use uber or lyft
01:21 But what they on the other side if they get hit by an uber lyft driver, right?
01:25 so all those those insurances take place and I highly recommend that they always use a
01:33 Uber lyft because and it's a silly season, you know people like to drink if they're not paying attention
01:38 I went down to the mall the other day just last Sunday people are just
01:43 They're busy thinking of something else and so you man you got to be defensive driver, you know and be safe
01:51 Yeah, and so when you know, you're getting those apps and getting on them and stuff. You really need to pay attention now
01:56 Once if I am one if I am an uber driver
01:59 I mean, I should make sure I have those insurance
02:01 But if I get one, can I can I call you and say listen, I've been an accident. Oh, yeah
02:05 We have a lot of them and so yeah, they come in. Yeah, absolutely
02:09 It's just it's a matter of who's at fault, right?
02:11 And so it's not necessarily what you're driving but and make sure you get lots of insurance under insured motorist coverage
02:17 I keep pushing that but it's it's super important for your vehicle and your
02:21 family people in your vehicle, so
02:23 Let's let's talk ago. It's the sad thing if you do get into an accident and you're driving and you've been at a party
02:29 I mean you got to really pay attention to the liability what's going on?
02:32 And and the other driver needs to really check with people too, right? Right? Yeah be safe
02:37 It's just you know
02:40 Be defensive. It's just especially this time of year. Yeah, this is the highest rate of fatalities is this between?
02:47 Thanksgiving and New Year's
02:50 Yeah, and it's a third of its because of alcohol, right?
02:53 So, you know just don't even risk it take a take a ride with an uber
02:58 Yeah lift and don't don't ever risk it. You know, it's just not worth it, right?
03:02 And you got a lot more insurance. They usually have a million dollar coverage if they're hauling you, right? So
03:06 Which is the safe way to do it better than you having to pay that out in the accident
03:11 And of course taking someone's life or anything like that. I mean, I know that you know a lot of companies offer
03:18 Ride shares for their holiday parties now. I mean that's something that's important to do and that's what you recommend companies
03:23 If you are having them and your employees, right? Yeah. Yeah be safe. Just it's not worth it
03:28 It's not worth the risk and people want to drink and have fun this time of year
03:31 So and it's great, but just be safe about it, right?
03:34 Yeah, it's just so okay
03:36 If someone does get into an accident with an uber and they and they're going to file the claim
03:40 I mean how they do that today they go through their insurance again, but they do and call me
03:47 Because it's gonna be a fight you're gonna it's kind of like a three-party fight, right?
03:51 You have the driver that you have to of course fight with kind of and you have his insurance
03:56 Then you have ubers and lips insurance
03:58 So it's good to have someone like you on your side and going there because you know all the rules and everything and who to contact
04:03 Because that's the thing about it's an app. So you don't know who to contact for that, right?
04:07 Right, and you got to be aggressive about it because they did nobody wants to pay right? Yes
04:11 That's they want to save all the money they can so we just have to make them pay. I like it
