Residents of Port Macquarie's North Shore want improved communications and a temporary alternative, whenever one of its two ferries is out for maintenance.
Transcript
00:00 The purpose of the protest is to highlight to the community and council that we are not
00:07 a second class citizen and we need to have effective and more timely communications and
00:13 the breakdown of the ferry a couple of weeks ago demonstrated that.
00:17 We want action, we want council to start looking at the possibility of putting a stand in ferry
00:34 in place when the slip happens every two years.
00:37 Every two years this happens and without fail the slip date is always extended due to various
00:44 troubles with the ferry, the maintenance issues that they find.
00:48 So here we are now, we are almost eight weeks, more than eight weeks having to deal with
00:54 one ferry with a 15 car capacity in the middle of three houses being built over here with
01:00 constant concrete trucks coming backwards and forwards.
