Cannock forklift company's spirit-lifting Christmas video to rival John Lewis ads

  • last year
A Christmas video has highlighted the importance of engineers during the festive period in a Marks and Spencer-style production.

Briggs Equipment UK, based in Cannock, released its own festive production this week, with the colourful Christmas ad gaining over 1,000 views in less than 24 hours.

In the video, titled 'Tale of the Christmas Bear' a narrator recites poetic verses about a teddy bear who was left behind by Santa, but quickly delivered just in time for Christmas by the Briggs Equipment UK engineers. The heart-warming advert focuses on the importance of forklift and warehouse engineers during the Christmas period and shows the role they play in making sure Santa's gifts make it under our trees.

00:00 On a cold Christmas Eve beneath the moon's light, the Briggs Workshop elves danced with delight.
00:17 The last of the gifts wrapped in paper and bows lined up on the shelves in neat little rows.
00:24 The Christmas dogs too in their festive attire, playing their part, never seeming to tire.
00:31 A pause for some milk and mince pie, so sweet, before the elves returned their mission to
00:40 complete. They packed the elf forklift with presents so high and all got together to wave
00:47 Santa goodbye. However, on a towering rack left behind sat a bear. A passing engineer said,
00:57 "That shouldn't be there." He knew Santa had gone, he'd just left the gate, but the engineer thought,
01:04 "It's never too late." He got into his reach truck and rescued the bear, lowering him slowly,
01:12 taking great care. With the bear in his grasp, he packed up his van, doing all that he could
01:20 to stick to the plan. Using a seatbelt, preventing the worst, it was always safety first.
01:28 The engineer arrived at dawn on Christmas Day. He delivered the bear, knocked the door,
01:36 then headed away. He turned back, smiled, the little boy waved. Thanks to the engineer,
01:44 Christmas was saved. "Bricks really does keep Christmas moving,"
01:50 he said with a cheer. He smiled wide and bright, his message so clear.
