Sa resulta ng 2022 Programme for International Student Assessment o PISA, kabilang ang Pilipinas sa mabababa ang proficiency sa reading, mathematics at science. Ibig sabihin mas mababa sa global average ng Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development ang score na nakuha ng bansa.

Ayon sa Department of Education, nangangahulugan daw ito na lima hanggang anim na taong huli ang learning competency ng mga estudyanteng Pilipino. Magsisilbi raw itong wake-up call sa sitwasyon ng ating edukasyon.
