00:01:35Do you remember the fairy tale?
00:01:36Papa.
00:01:38Come on.
00:01:39I still don't believe in fairy tales.
00:01:41That one was your favorite.
00:01:44Hmm?
00:01:47Once upon a time, at a big troll wedding,
00:01:4913 drunk trolls lost track of time,
00:01:51the sun rose and turned them to stone,

that if you really have faith
in something…
[helicopter blades thumping]
[quietly] What the hell?
[soldier] Tidemann?
Nora Tidemann?
I'm here to escort you to Oslo immediately.
00:10:46- Huh?
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
213
that I dig up fossils
I don't mean to be so mysterious.
- But this really is top secret. - Top secret.
00:11:17- So I've been told.
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
221
- [computers chiming]
They don't include this area in the guided tour.
00:11:44- Star Trek?
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
225
I spent years financing and planning.
Yeah? I didn't eat anything and I'm exhausted,
00:11:54which is a really awful combination.
00:11:56- I'm in the dark…
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
232
233
234
235
- Hmm.
Dinosaurs have been extinct for 65 million years, so…
00:12:28Yes. Well, I guess
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
241
or act of terrorism.
But the reports so far indicate that the incident at Dovre
00:12:46is geological in nature.
00:12:49In addition to the crater
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
246
- Excuse me?
Sinkholes.
Water seeps through the mountain's porous crevices,
00:13:02which dissolves calcium sediments
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
251
of large subterranean pockets of gas.
Methane?
Yesof global warming.
00:13:16[Fred] Yes, well, I guess
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
256
257
257
259
- Are you joking? Hello?
I can assure youthat this is deadly serious.
00:13:36Mm… Okay.
00:13:38But…
00:13:40Everyone sees they're footprints, right?
00:13:45Look at them.
00:13:47Footprints.
00:13:48Is there a… specific type of monster
00:13:51the paleontologist had in mind?
00:13:53[chuckles]
00:13:54Well, uh, it makes no sense
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
272
the cell phone remotely.
It was nearly impossiblebetween you and me.
00:14:09Then I found a back door.
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
111
278
279
280
281
282
283
- [roaring echoes]
[screaming]
[scream cuts out]
[man clears throat]
- Could that be methane? - It very well could be, yes. After years…
00:14:58- The explosion emanates from the same…
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
290
291
- Let the mountain live...
[roaring]
That sound
Animal.
[screaming
Stop.
- [audio halts on recording] - [ominous music rises]
00:15:51[birds chirping]
00:15:57[snorts softly]
00:15:59[barking]
00:16:00[high-pitched whistling]
00:16:03[man on radio]
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
304
according to government officials.
- I wonder what's gotten into Solo? - [woman] Hm.
00:16:14He's losing his mind out there.
00:16:15- [barking continues]
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
314
- [rumbling]
[whimpers]
- [clattering] - Dear God!
00:16:57Honey? Get in the basement!
00:17:00- [house creaking]
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
321
- [electricity crackling]
[rumbling grows distant]
[door creaking]
[eerie music builds slowly]
[dog barking]
Are you claiming it's a hominid? Give me a break.
00:17:50- Morphologically… See those footprints?
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
329
we have two legs
And two arms.
So what you're proposing here is that it's a giant chimp?
00:18:04King Kong. Perhaps?
00:18:06The largest primates on earth
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
336
337
338
339
340
further evidence.
What plans do you have?
Are we gonna sit on our asses discussing theories, or are we gonna take action?
00:18:37Miss, please, restrain yourself.
00:18:40[scoffs lightly]
00:18:42Professor Tidemann, thank you.
00:18:45I can put my work on hold
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
349
350
351
352
353
made you a Scientific Adviser.
There's been an incident in Lesja.
- We need to go there immediately. - "We"?
00:19:17Oh. Yes, I've been assigned
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
362
363
I had a love of nature.
Andon stories and fairy tales.
00:19:57My father was a professor
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
367
368
369
- I'm sorry?
She died when I was ten.
Huh.
Well
You and your father
Yeah.
What?
My dad had a huge heartand an even bigger imagination, so…
00:20:34Eventually, he kind of
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
380
381
382
- [Nora] Yeah.
I once believed I'd be a writer.
[Nora chuckles]
I'm writing a book right now
about a monk that can tear his head off
and throw it at the bad guys so he can bite them.
00:21:03- That's unreal.
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
390
391
392
- Captain Holm
- Andreas Isaksen- Welcome to Lesja.
00:21:40- [metal clatters]
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
398
two miles south into the mountains
then come to a stop.
- Come to a stop? - Yes.
00:21:56Huh.
00:21:57- There haven't been any other sightings?
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
405
406
407
into the Norwegian mountains?
WellCaptain Holm.
00:22:17Kris.
00:22:19You can call me Kris.
00:22:22Captain Kris?
00:22:23[sniffs] Yeah.
00:22:25[chuckling]
00:22:26[man] Well, I, uh
00:22:27I couldn't see it clearly.
00:22:30It... It was dark.
00:22:33[Nora] I see.
00:22:34Were the clouds outside
00:22:36blocking the sun?
00:22:38No, ma'am.
00:22:39It was something else.
00:22:41[dog whimpers]
00:22:42It was as if we were
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
429
you can remember?
Any memory of what happenedanything at all.
00:23:04I don't... I'm so sorry, but I'm
00:23:06[sniffs] I'm still in shock.
00:23:08[Nora] It's okay.
00:23:11Mmm. Thank you very much.
00:23:15There was one thing…
00:23:17- Mm-hm.
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
440
He has to wear hearing aids.
[Lars] What?
Uh
Howling like some wind?
No
A sad melody.
[crying] It was heartbreaking.
- [creaking] - [ominous music plays slowly]
00:24:02It's almost like a natural disaster
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416

two miles south of here?
[energetic music playing]
[Holm] It stops down there.
No more tracks.
Look at the thermal scanner.
There's no sign of life.
Nothing's there
Impossible. It's too big to just disappear into thin air.
00:26:01And no place to hide.
00:26:15CAMOUFLAGE?
00:26:17[Holm] Do you have a theory?
00:26:23[sighs deeply]
00:26:26- Damn it!
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
508
509
- Hey
Put it down.
This is Captain Kris…
Toffer Holm.
And Kris
It's... It's… It's her father.
Okay.
It's a pleasure.
Can we go inside and talk?
Come on. This is important.
Maybe…
Get some pants to put on as well.
[chickens clucking]
I see you hired a decorator.
Uh… No.
The winter of 1943
the Nazis used Russian war prisoners
to build the Nordland Railwaybut only got to Bodø.
00:28:49Some believe the construction stopped
00:28:53due to something they found
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
532
533
534
535
- [gasps]
[screaming continues]
[roaring]
We have followed
footprints of this
But they just stop
[Tobias] Huhhuh, huh, huh, huh, huh.
00:29:38And no superstition, fairy tales,
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
545
546
better than anyone.
Ah…
Did you know Norway imposed the maximum penalty
00:30:04for contact with trolls up until 1840?
00:30:07Trolls?
00:30:09Why were we never taught
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
554
not to bring that up again?
You know a thousand years is just a blip in the evolutionary process.
00:30:22If the trolls really lived here,
00:30:24scientist would've found DNA profiles
00:30:26or troll fossils in sedimentary rocks,
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
560
561
know about this except you?
That's because I was this close to revealing it all.
00:30:43They threw me in the loony bin.
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
568
all the myths
- It was to cover up the truth. - Papa!
00:31:04Every recorded fairy tale was written
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
572
- They portrayed them as dumb!
Evil and stingy. Meanwhilethe humans were so great!
00:31:16We're enlightened and mentally superior.
00:31:19Yeah. If you tell a lie enough times,
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
314
578
a couple minutes to breathe…
- That sounds like a good plan. - A couple minutes?
00:31:33We can't waste a second.
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
605
606
to a hospital for a while.
I see.
I… I hoped I would find him in a better state.
00:33:03Hey, I should probably help.
00:33:06- Okay.
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
622
623
624
625
the secrets of the world.
The same curiosity as your mother.
What happened?
I grew up
Oh
What do you think we're looking for here, Nora? Hmm?
00:34:02What you're suggesting
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
633
- No
- For God's sake. - Made of earth and stones.
00:34:14From within the mountain,
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
637
- That smell.
[sniffs]
Look
Not you
Hypernature.
Hypernature?
Hypernature…
[thunder rumbling]
- [rocks rumbling softly] - [sniffing]
00:34:45[eerie music builds slowly]
00:34:51- Papa?
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
652
653
654
655
656
657
658
658
660
- [all shouting]
[epic music building]
[snarls]
[roaring]
Call up Oslo!
Yes. Putting it on the screen now.
[keys clacking]
[troll snarling on monitor]
[roaring]
- [door beeps] - You need to see this!
00:36:16[snarling]
00:36:20[snarls]
00:36:22What in the hell is that?
00:36:24[snorts]
00:36:28[chuckling]
00:36:33RENA MILITARY CAMP ØSTERDALEN
00:36:37- Pretty intense, huh?
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
678
- Yeah?
No matter what they ask…
Whatever the people in uniforms say
swear you won't say the word "troll".
Okay?
Troll? What do you mean
- Does the sound not work or...? - He doesn't mean a fairy tale creature.
00:36:56- It's more like a…
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
689
690
691
rash decisions either.
What are you suggesting? Inviting the troll to a friendly race?
00:37:16- [scoffs]
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
696
the Dovre Mountains…
- Papa. - …Is a mockery of nature.
00:37:28- But that's what you guys do!
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
700
- I'm helping.
NoThis is just like our PTA meetings...
00:37:36Are you finished?
00:37:38- That crazy teacher of yours...
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
705
- 20 years I've been doing troll research.
And I'm the crazy one?! I'm the crazy one?
- I'll take care of it. - Yeah, good luck!
00:37:52- Excuse me.
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
712
if you please give us more time. Okay?
I'm sorry
We're implementing a military operation.
[scoffs]
You insist on your fairy tale theories
but this isn't some mystical fantasy creature
00:38:17that can smell Christian blood
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
720
I'm going back to the dig.
It was nice to see you
Imagine waking upand everything you know is gone.
00:38:38You wake up to a whole new world.
00:38:42Like this troll…
00:38:46This creature…
00:38:50You think it wants to be here?
00:38:54We can scare it with weapons.
00:38:56We can push it around.
00:38:57But I promise, Nora.
00:38:59Nature will push back.
00:39:04What do you want to do? Just give up?
00:39:07Even egghead doesn't want to give up.
00:39:10No…
00:39:16The adventure has just begun.
00:39:21[dramatic music builds slowly]
00:39:29There you are.
00:39:30[energetic music plays]
00:39:32[Nora] Kris!
00:39:34Captain!
00:39:35You're civilians, Tidemann.
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
742
743
744
- [clanging]
- [man] Hey! - Sorry. Sorry!
00:39:50It's completely out of the question.
00:39:53But we have to bend the rules
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
751
you have to lay low and follow my orders.
Understand?
And if Oslo finds out I brought you along…
Yeah
Don't worry. You'll be dead before sunrise.
00:40:24[energetic music playing]
00:40:40Go! Go! Go! Go!
00:40:41Now!
00:40:46[chainsaws buzzing]
00:41:06[high-pitched whirring]
00:41:10[Sigrid] Ladies and gentlemen,
00:41:12we are live from Heidal.
00:41:17[Holm] Piranha, this is Viking.
00:41:18Status? Over.
00:41:20Viking, this is Piranha.
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
774
775
and bite them?
[Andreas] Exactly
He can rip it off and throw it
like a fist-snowball.
[chuckles]
Huh. Fascinating.
Yeah
[exhales]
[distant animal calls]
Can you picture it?
Wandering around in large herds.
Families.
"Made of earth and stones."
"A snow-clad heart
[Tobias chuckles]
I remember it all.
The fairy tales from you and Mom
and all the… emptiness after.
How we dealt with it.
I remember that as well.
The adventures of Big and Tiny.
[chuckles] Is this a reconciliation thing?
You and me?
[chuckles lightly]
[exhales deeply]
Is that a PVS-31?
Uh
That's what I thought.
- Do you have military experience? - A little.
00:43:34Oh yeah?
00:43:36"Call of Duty."
00:43:39[chuckling]
00:43:40[chuckles]
00:43:41Nora, the truth is, um…
00:43:45You lost us both,
00:43:47when your mother died.
00:43:54You're here now.
00:43:59You old fossil.
00:44:02Mm.
00:44:04Are you crying?
00:44:05[chuckles softly]
00:44:07It's my pine allergy. [Sniffs]
00:44:10[chuckles]
00:44:11- I'm allergic to forests.
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
821
a real arcade feeling
- Yeah. - [man on radio] 3-Alpha for Viking.
00:44:31- 3-Alpha for Viking, over.
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
828
- Ow
[Holm] Man…
[distant rumbling]
He's here.
[ominous music playing]
[monitors beeping]
[ground rumbling]
Can I see?
[rumbling continues]
[sniffs deeply
[sniffs
It's stopping.
Ah
Oslo
[Lunde] Viking
you are authorized to open fire.
3-Alpha
Engage the target.
Copy that.
Open fire.
You idiots!
[rockets popping off]
[roaring]
[stones crackling]
[snarls]
[Holm] What the hell…
It's not working.
You're pissing him off.
[Holm] 3-Alpha
3-Alpha
- [roaring] - [rapid gunfire]
00:46:03Piranha, open fire! Repeat, open fire!
00:46:06[man on radio]
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
863
- [shells firing]
[roars]
[roaring]
[explosions continue in distance]
[roaring]
- [roaring] - [rapid gunfire]
00:46:37[shells firing]
00:46:38- [rapid gunfire]
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
874
875
876
- [music fades]
[rumbling]
Let's go!
Let's go!
Run!
[roaring]
[man screams]
Over here!
- [roaring] - [rapid gunfire]
00:47:25[audio distorting]
00:47:27- [static crackling]
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
890
891
892
893
894
895
896
897
898
899
900
- [soldier screams]
[soldier] Oh God! Oh shit!
[soldier shouting]
[screaming]
Someone help! Oh!
- God save me- Christian blood.
00:48:18[screaming]
00:48:21[Nora gasping]
00:48:22He smelled the blood.
00:48:25We have to move. Come on.
00:48:28- [Tobias] Hey!
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
929
930
931
932
- Yeah?
[Tobias gasping weakly]
- Ah… - Are you okay?
00:50:11[breathing raggedly]
00:50:13[troll breathes deeply]
00:50:18[breathing raggedly]
00:50:28Don't move. We'll get some help.
00:50:32Nora.
00:50:33You saw it.
00:50:35Shh, save your energy.
00:50:36[Tobias] You saw.
00:50:39[breathing raggedly]
00:50:43The palace…
00:50:47The king… [inhales sharply]
00:50:51Home…
00:50:55Listen, my child…
00:50:59Believe…
00:51:02[exhales weakly]
00:51:10[melancholy music playing]
00:51:22Papa?
00:51:26Papa.
00:51:28[sobbing softly]
00:51:31[sobs]
00:51:35[cries] No!
00:51:38[crying]

00:52:22HOME!
00:52:41[Holm] So is he a robot?
00:52:43[Andrea] No, no, no.
00:52:44He's a zen master using his spirituality
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416

00:53:47Huh?
00:53:48Your father.
00:53:51He said that Kittelsen
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416

are there from the fairy tales?
Are you serious?
- Okay. - It's... It's just so…
00:54:14So sunlight aside…
00:54:15Remember. We…
00:54:17We grew up with these, Andreas.
00:54:18- Come on.

00:54:46The plan you're suggesting
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416

1024
getting better and better!
- [laughter continues] - [sighs]
00:55:10Where do you stand on this, Andreas?
00:55:14Uh, Prime Minister.
00:55:16Um, up until this point, based
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1030
1031
1032
it's something we've never seen before.
The modern weapons we tried
had no effect.
I believe that Professor Tidemann is right.
00:55:41We have to think outside the box now.
00:55:44Prime Minister.
00:55:45Tidemann's proposal is radical.
00:55:48That's for sure. And if there's one thing
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1044
1045
it will be total chaos.
- People will panic. - But we need a plan.
00:56:14- But we just can't...
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1051
[patrons chattering]
[laughter]
- Thank you! - Don't run too far, okay.
00:56:56[distant rumbling]
00:57:02- [rumbling]

00:58:21It's working!
00:58:22[screaming continues]
00:58:24[groaning]
00:58:27[troll bellows]
00:58:29This is Hocus 1. We have to move closer.
00:58:31- [bells clanging]

[reporter] We have shocking images coming out of Norway at this hour.
00:59:56We are on the ground here in Norway,
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1103
Could it be a Norwegian Godzilla?
[in English] They don't know what kind of creature they're dealing with.
01:00:09It just… really scared me.
01:00:12More than a dozen buildings were crushed.
01:00:14The military is everywhere!
01:00:16We're talking about a monster here!
01:00:18- [in French] Devastation.
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1112
to be heading straight for the capital.
[woman on TV] In Norwayis struggling to find a way to stop
01:00:35what appears to be a monster.
01:00:37[somber music playing]
01:01:00We know it wasn't the desired outcome,
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1120
making its way towards the capitol.
Yes
Which is why it's important to find out what we're up against here.
01:01:18We have to find out why it's coming here.
01:01:21Figuring that out gives us a chance to...
01:01:22So what is it, then?
01:01:27If you open up your mind to it…
01:01:30What do you think?
01:01:32A threat!
01:01:34- That's all I need to know.
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1131
- Prime Minister.
The incredible isn't impossible.
[inhales deeply]
Thank you kindly for your contribution
Professor Tidemann.
[Nora scoffs]
Tidemann.
Uh
[Holm] Nora?
No one could've done any better.
[scoffs]
They're making a mistake.
That's what I think.
Captain Kris.
[chuckles softly]
Just let me know
if there's anything else I can do.
As long as church bells aren't involved.
[chuckles]
I'll do my best.
We'll barricade all roads from the northeast.
01:02:58And if it breaks through them?
01:03:00Well, there is… another alternative.
01:03:02No.
01:03:03No? What are you talking about?
01:03:06We, uh, have at our disposal,
01:03:10missiles
01:03:12that have yet to be approved… officially.
01:03:14What you are suggesting
01:03:16goes against everything
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1165
1166
1167
1168
1169
for a moment
[Andreas scoffs lightly]
You can consider this my resignation.
[exhales]
Excuse me.
[keypad beeping]
[chimes
[distant chattering]
Nora!
I'll take it from here.
What are you doing?
You
You forgot this.
Come on. Come on. I... I'll… I'll drive.
- [distant alarms blaring] - [scattered chatter]
01:04:33What's going on?
01:04:34They're evacuating Oslo.
01:04:37[tense music builds slowly]
01:04:46[beeps]
01:04:49Fellow citizens.
01:04:53Many of you have already heard
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1191
1192
1193
1194
1195
to deal with major crises.
But nothing could have prepared us all for the crisis we are currently facing.
01:05:23A creature unknown to science has
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1202
and our top scientists
have done their best to get control of the situation.
01:05:53It is with a heavy heart that I tell you
01:05:56that our efforts so far,
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1207
1208
to take this situation as seriously
as the administration and parliament does.
I hereby declare a state of emergency.
And the immediate evacuation of Oslo and all neighboring areas.
01:06:28We have faced crises
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1225
1226
- [Nora] Mm.
I don't get what it means. He's written it more than once.
01:07:18Sinding, and something about a Gatekeeper.
01:07:21It could be Rikard Sinding.
01:07:24Who's that?
01:07:25The Palace Lord Chamberlain.
01:07:29I, uh, kind of know him.
01:07:31We met a few times at the Royal Palace.
01:07:33[mysterious music plays]
01:07:36KINGDOM/PALACE? MEANING???
01:07:39The Palace…
01:07:41Home…
01:07:42The king… [inhales sharply]
01:07:45- What is it?
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1241
1242
1243
1244
1245
1246
1247
1248
1249
- [tires skid]
- [handbrake clicks] - [car door chimes]
01:08:15[guard] Freeze!
01:08:17- We come in peace.
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1254
- We don't have time for this!
- [weapon clicking] - This is your last warning!
01:08:26Fine. We can wait, I guess.
01:08:27Walk back slowly, towards the car!
01:08:29[man] Stand down, gentlemen.
01:08:32Stand down.
01:08:34[chuckling] Sinding!
01:08:36Remember me? Isaksen.
01:08:39Prime Minister Moberg's advisor.
01:08:42I assumed that someone
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1273
1274
1275
1276
1277
1278
it was believed to be good luck
to build the Royal Palace on top of another king's home.
01:09:49It was nearly discovered in the 1920s
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1287
1288
- [electricity buzzing]
This was the home of the Troll King.
Oh God!
[Sinding] During the Christianization of Norway,
01:10:29Olav the Holy rid the land of anything
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1300
deep into the mountain.
Where they locked him up inside a cavern.
Where they left him
for dead.
Then my father was right.
The king is making his way back to his castle.
01:11:20He's going home.
01:11:27[bones sizzling]
01:11:35Andreas.
01:11:37See that?
01:11:43From darkness they came.
01:11:44And died in the light.
01:11:47That can't be right. We…
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1316
1317
1318
281
1320
1321
- [troll growling]
[roars]
Her Royal Highness the Queen's personal favorite, right over here.
01:12:40Okay.
01:12:41We've got wheels.
01:12:44Now, we need muscle.
01:12:45Hmm?
01:12:49[indistinct chatter]
01:12:51[mobile ringing]
01:12:55Tidemann. [Chuckles]
01:12:58Huh?
01:13:00A plan?
01:13:02- [soldiers screaming]
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1341
1342
1343
and with an easier route.
Mm-hm.
Ekeberg.
I can ask my buddies in the Home Guard.
It's just…
Where will we find that much U.
I've got an idea.
[dramatic music plays]
[man over PA] The following codeone, six, zero, three,
01:14:21seven, six, nine, nine,
01:14:23three, six, five, six, seven, nine.
01:14:27[Lunde over PA]
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1364
- What's happening?
Oslo is going to be flattened.
We need to buy more time.
I mean
How hard can it be to hack into a military computer
01:15:06and override the most high-tech
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1372
1373
1374
1375
1376
1377
[metal clinking]
[low growling]
There's no time to explain. So I'll tell you later.
01:15:41EKEBERG FIELDS OSLO
01:15:45[brakes grinding]
01:15:47[grunts]
01:16:00[dramatic music fades out]
01:16:01[distant sirens blaring]
01:16:16[dog barking in distance]
01:16:23[grunting]
01:16:24All set.
01:16:25[distant sirens blaring]
01:16:30Come on.
01:16:35[monitors trilling]
01:16:36[distant rumbling]
01:16:37The target is approaching the city center.
01:16:39- [rumbling]
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1395
1396
1397
[Sigrid sighs]
"You shall not pass"
[horn honking]
Amir!
Salaam alaikum.
Alaikum salaam
- You have a plan? - You recruit anyone?
01:17:12- The cavalry?
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1407
1408
1409
- [chuckles]
- [horn honks] - [Holm whoops]
01:17:29[engine revs]
01:17:34If your hacker friend fails us, then…
01:17:37Siggi is Spock to my Captain Kirk.
01:17:41Siggi has never failed.
01:17:43That's not even remotely possible.
01:17:45[hopeful music builds to crescendo]
01:17:47[tense music playing]
01:17:49[alert beeping]
01:17:52[pilot] This is Raven 4.
01:17:53Target in sight. Awaiting orders.
01:17:57Engage.
01:17:58Blow it into pieces.
01:17:59[pilot] Copy that.
01:18:00[jet engine whooshing]
01:18:02Firing missile in
01:18:04five…
01:18:05Four…
01:18:07Three…
01:18:08Two…
01:18:10One.
01:18:12Huh? System malfunction.
01:18:13System malfunction. It's not working.
01:18:15Yahtzee.
01:18:19[jet engine whooshing away]
01:18:22Oh…
01:18:23Siggi.
01:18:24[exhales]
01:18:26Okay!
01:18:27- What's going on?
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
27 00:01:55,166 --> 00:01:56,416
1442
Get connected
[distant rumbling]
[distant moaning]
What if the plan fails?
Hm?
What if I'm just like my father?
Completely nuts.
In a world gone madthen only the crazy can be sane.
