00:00 Well, we are tracking our storm today
00:02 across the desert Southwest across New Mexico,
00:05 and this is the storm that's
00:07 going to have large impacts,
00:08 not only across Texas and Florida
00:10 over the next couple of days,
00:12 but we're going to track this right
00:15 up the eastern seaboard as we
00:17 head into early next week.
00:18 Let me show you the time frame of this.
00:21 First again,
00:22 will track this in the parts of Texas.
00:24 Will be dealing with this today in the Thursday.
00:27 Again, there's going to be some snow,
00:29 not only in the mountains,
00:30 but also in the lower elevations.
00:32 Also some rain across central
00:34 and West Texas here.
00:35 Now we're going to bring this east
00:37 as we get into Friday and then in
00:39 the Saturday Friday we're talking
00:40 about Texas with some locally heavy rain.
00:43 We can use the rain in the Central
00:45 Gulf Coast states and then boy,
00:47 I tell you what,
00:48 batten down the hatches as we get
00:50 into Saturday and Sunday across
00:51 Florida because there's going to
00:53 be numerous showers and thunderstorms
00:54 and some locally heavy rain.
00:56 We're also worried about severe weather
00:58 and there's certainly going to be some.
01:00 Now as we head into next week,
01:02 listen,
01:02 it's complicated here because this is
01:04 a kind of a simplified version of this storm,
01:07 but there's multiple pieces that are
01:09 coming in toward this system to make
01:12 this this storm now the center of
01:14 circulation should be somewhere off the
01:16 Georgia South Carolina coast on Monday.
01:18 This dip in the jet stream for the
01:21 most part is not going to push this
01:23 out to sea. It's actually going to
01:26 get up the eastern seaboard.
01:28 Notice where we have the cold air
01:30 and this is cold enough for snow.
01:32 It is disconnected from the storm,
01:34 so this storm is going to produce
01:36 very little in the way of snow.
01:38 This is mostly going to be a rainstorm.
01:40 Now this storm should strengthen
01:42 as it comes northward.
01:43 If it does,
01:44 we could be looking at some very big impacts.
01:47 We'll be talking about Sunday night in
01:49 the Monday across the Georgia Carolina
01:51 coast Monday Monday night Mid Atlantic
01:53 Coast and then Monday night Tuesday.
01:55 Across the Northeast.
01:56 Now if it does strengthen and we
01:58 think it probably will,
02:00 the storm there's going to be some
02:02 strong coastal winds, beach erosion,
02:03 and probably some coastal flooding.
02:05 Again,
02:05 this is mostly going to be rain and it
02:08 could be a flooding rain on the
02:10 northwest side of the storm.
02:11 Meanwhile,
02:12 there's not a lot of cold air,
02:14 so what does that mean?
02:15 It's mostly rain,
02:16 but I can see some mountain snow
02:18 maybe in the Mid Atlantic maybe,
02:20 but I think it's more likely
02:22 up across New England.
