00:00 to northern New Mexico now where the snow is piling up, creating travel trouble. This is the
00:05 view from I-40 in Kline's Corners east of Albuquerque where traffic was at a standstill earlier today.
00:12 For the latest on the snow, we are joined now by Bree Guy. And Bree, this is a situation where,
00:18 you know, it may not be the most populated state, but anyone who lives in these areas that got this
00:23 snow in New Mexico, a lot of snow fell and the roads are really treacherous. Yeah, and some of
00:29 those roads are, even if it's not overly populated, they're still very busily traveled. And so, hey,
00:35 we're talking about some major interstates rolling on through those areas. Big problems.
00:39 Texas Panhandle too. Yeah, and that snow, it doesn't stop there, folks. It moves right on
00:44 into the Texas Panhandle and that's what the situation is going to be into Thursday night.
00:49 I want to show you a snapshot of the situation that we're going to be dealing with here over
00:54 the next few hours because, again, we're not done with that wintry weather. It's pushing right off
00:58 of the front range into the Texas Panhandle. And, well, hey, we're even talking about some rain as
01:02 well. If we look at some of those snow reports, though, that we got in just northeast of Santa
01:07 Fe, 20 inches of snow. So, hey, none of these snowfall totals were anything to laugh at. We
01:13 got some pretty impressive snow here. Even in Silverton, Colorado, we got a nice thumping there,
01:18 over 10 inches of snow. And even in Wolf Creek Pass, Colorado, 10 inches of snow as well.
01:23 Now, if we show you what's happening right now, what's the flavor? Well, we're talking about that
01:29 rain rolling on through parts of the Southern Plains. It's making its way into Wichita,
01:32 Oklahoma City. I know it's been cloudy here over the last few hours. That's just a precursor of
01:36 what's to come. But that rain's even starting to change over to some snow there right across
01:41 northwest Texas, pushing into Oklahoma. Now, when all is said and done, even areas like Amarillo,
01:46 Texas, are going to be getting in on some of this wintry action. And it's not going to be a whole
01:50 lot of snow, but still something to talk about. And hey, still something that could cause some
01:54 problems, especially late tonight. According to an edge, that's going to be starting there on 9 p.m.
01:59 Central Time on Thursday. And that's going to continue on right through midnight. And that
02:03 snowfall amount probability, that's going to be our highest amount there. Make sure to check out
02:07 that AccuWeather Wintercast. You can find that on our AccuWeather app, too. Feature radar here
02:12 showing that, hey, that rain's not slowing down. It's going to continue to shift on east. Heads
02:17 up early morning Friday. I'm going to stop this in time around 5 30 a.m. Central Time. Still
02:22 cranking out that heavy rain in Wichita. Still going to be raining in Oklahoma City. And while
02:27 now we're watching this rain extend a little bit further south, it's going to swing on through
02:31 central Texas. And as we make our way throughout Friday morning, heads up Dallas. It's going to be
02:36 reaching you as well. This line, well, hey, it's looking pretty ugly at times. Again, we do have
02:41 some heavier rain that's going to be propagating right across the southern plains. It is going to
02:45 continue to shift on east, but heads up, it's going to be moving right into Arkansas. Little
02:50 rock getting in on some action, too, as well. Late Friday into early Saturday, and then some of that
02:55 rain is going to continue to wrap on around right through Kansas, up through Missouri as well,
03:00 and even pushing through parts of southern Nebraska as we do head into the late hours on
03:05 our Friday right into Saturday night. And like Kevin was talking about, it doesn't stop there.
03:10 We are going to continue to track that wave of energy as it does shift east throughout the
03:14 the beginning of the weekend.
