A storm moving east on Feb. 16 hit some towns with more than six inches of snow as it swept from Missouri to Pennsylvania.

00:00 Our stop top story tonight takes
00:01 us to another round of snow moving
00:04 through the Midwest and into the
00:06 Northeast and while this is a fast
00:08 moving storm there is enough snow
00:10 falling to create slick conditions
00:11 in spots for our Friday night
00:13 and into Saturday morning.
00:15 Accuweather was a first and ahead
00:17 of any other source and providing
00:19 the snowfall accumulation maps
00:20 for this Clipper storm and the
00:22 previous one that impacted the
00:24 central US and Northeast this week.
00:26 So we've got a lot of snow
00:28 to unpack for you as again that
00:30 snow keeps piling up in some locations.
00:32 Opening up the big board you can find.
00:35 We've got a couple different
00:36 things out there for us.
00:38 First up we are talking about this storm
00:40 system slicing its way on through and
00:42 you can already see where some of
00:44 those warnings and alerts are where
00:46 we are expecting some of the most
00:49 intense snowfall with this storm system.
00:51 And there have been some dark belts of blue.
00:54 Who really intense?
00:55 Unfortunately in some spots,
00:56 snowfall accumulations we started to see a
00:58 couple of them work their way through in
01:01 Indiana and portions of Illinois.
01:03 Also now stretching into Ohio
01:04 and Western Pennsylvania.
01:05 Greatest snowfall accumulations.
01:07 Some of them have been outside Columbus,
01:09 Marysville coming in around 6 inches.
01:11 We've also had some in Springfield,
01:13 Illinois, 6 plus inches of snow.
01:15 But like I said,
01:16 we have some really intense band setting up,
01:18 so that's what's interesting about this.
01:20 And I'm going to show you.
01:22 You can see Pittsburgh on the board.
01:25 Here as we watch it right about there.
01:27 And we've also got Columbus on the board
01:30 right now interstate 70 not going to be
01:32 a good drive. That's where we have so
01:35 much of this heavy snow lining up.
01:37 And there's been some very intense
01:39 bands that have come down.
01:40 In fact, we have here just some of
01:43 this dark blue that's lining up.
01:45 You can see that line there in
01:47 between Johnstown Altoona.
01:48 That's where we get those quick
01:50 intense snowfall totals to really
01:52 ramp up in a few days.
01:53 So you do have to use some caution as
01:56 you are out and about heading
01:58 through the evening hours.
01:59 The storm keeps moving its way
02:01 on East overnight tonight,
02:02 and this is where it continues to
02:04 produce some of that heavy snowfall.
02:07 It's going to be through the
02:09 Mid Atlantic and right along the
02:11 Pennsylvania Maryland border.
02:12 That's where we'll have some real
02:14 heavy snowfall potential places
02:16 like Washington DC.
02:17 Snow continues tonight.
02:18 Temperatures in the mid 30s,
02:19 25 below for Pittsburgh.
02:21 And more cold air tugs in on the
02:23 backside of the storm system,
02:25 so it goes well out to sea for your Saturday,
02:28 but there are going to be some snow
02:30 squall potentials on the backside of this.
02:32 We're going to have little bands of snow
02:34 showers working their way on through.
02:36 That could be really troublesome
02:38 to reducing visibility.
02:39 30 the high for Pittsburgh compared
02:40 to historical average tomorrow.
02:42 We're 10 degrees below historical average.
02:43 It's a chilly Saturday,
02:45 a little blustery too.
02:46 You can see this storm system
02:47 moving offshore pretty quickly.
02:49 This is 7:00 AM tomorrow morning.
02:50 And it's mostly just light snow showers
02:53 remaining as the heaviest is already
02:54 offshore and that moves farther
02:56 away by lunchtime and beyond.
02:57 The afternoon you get almost
02:59 these thunderstorms of snow,
03:00 and that's going to be our
03:02 problem throughout the day.
03:03 So be cautious with that.
03:05 But the storm itself brings three to
03:07 six inches in a place like Baltimore,
03:09 Philadelphia,
03:09 right on that three inch line,
03:11 as is Washington DC.
03:12 So in between those two areas,
03:14 that's where we have the best chance
03:16 to see the most snowfall from the
03:18 storm system on the I-95 corridor.
03:20 Three to six inches there in Baltimore.
03:22 So we are talking some very heavy
03:24 snow in a few locations Sunday.
03:26 We dry out a little bit.
03:28 We quiet down so it won't be quite as active.
