Some areas of Vermont and Maine got around a foot of snow in the first days of December.
Transcript
00:00 Our top story tonight is definitely taking us to the Northeast.
00:02 The first weekend in December brought everything from severe thunderstorms in central Pennsylvania
00:07 to snow in northern Maine.
00:10 And you know what?
00:11 If you look at the radar picture right now in the Northeast, we still have snow in northern
00:15 Maine.
00:16 It's northern New England.
00:17 It's New York State.
00:18 The snow is still coming down at a pretty good clip across portions of that part of
00:22 the Northeast.
00:24 Anything that -- once you head south of New Hampshire and Vermont, the activity has been
00:27 a lot lighter, more of a nuisance-type situation.
00:30 But this storm will wind down later tonight, still putting down a few inches in some areas.
00:36 But if you go a little bit west here, there's another storm, a much weaker one, which is
00:40 making its way through the upper Midwest right now, Duluth to Minneapolis.
00:44 You've got some snow mixing in with rain at times.
00:48 And that storm is an Alberta Clipper.
00:49 It came out of Canada.
00:51 It's a pretty quick mover, and it will impact about a dozen states over the next 24 to 36
00:56 hours.
00:57 And it could even give a little bit of snow to New York City later this week.
01:00 Speaking of snow, let's look at the snow reports across the Northeast.
01:04 We've had some of the Upper Great Lakes and also into northern New England.
01:09 And some of them were pretty impressive snowfall totals, folks.
01:11 Look at some of these numbers here.
01:13 Greensboro, Vermont, got more than a foot of snow.
01:16 We had between 9 and 11 inches for a lot of these Maine and Vermont locations.
01:21 Woodbury, Vermont, checked in with 9.9 inches.
01:24 Now this is current radar.
01:25 Again, we've still got some snow that's going to perhaps accumulate across portions of northern
01:30 New England as we head into tonight.
01:33 It'll wind down as we head toward tomorrow.
01:35 The forecast for a place like Stowe, Vermont, the winter cast feature, which is available
01:41 on AccuWeather.com or the free AccuWeather app, you just put your city in there.
01:46 And if you have any snow or ice in the forecast, this will show up for you.
01:50 How much snow in Stowe, Vermont, 3 to 6 inches.
01:53 And the snow is expected through 1 a.m. tonight.
01:55 So a few more hours where the snow still could accumulate for you in that part of Vermont.
02:00 And this is the snowfall forecast moving forward.
02:03 This will take us through Monday night.
02:05 We've got 6 to 12 inches out here across northern New England in the darker shade of blue.
02:09 And as you notice, once you get south of New Hampshire and Vermont, there's really no snow
02:14 to be had as far as any accumulation.
02:17 Temperature-wise tonight, we got a bit of a chill in the air, but we don't have anyone
02:21 really too much below freezing unless you get into New England.
02:25 Buffalo, you're at freezing with some rain and snow showers.
02:27 Pittsburgh, clouds and 34.
02:29 A little bit milder here in New York City.
02:32 Albany, you could have some slick spots with 33 degrees and some rain and snow showers.
02:37 But the worst of it is definitely going to be into northern New England, where you've
02:40 already seen a foot of snow in some areas.
02:42 Tuesday's weather, a bit of a chill in the air across the northeast.
02:45 And here's that clipper system we just showed you, the radar into Minnesota.
02:49 By Tuesday, you're bringing light rain and snow across the Great Lakes cities of Chicago
02:53 and Detroit, an eerie PA, a coating to an inch of snow, can't be ruled out there.
02:58 High temperatures for tomorrow.
03:00 There's a chill in the air with 30s away from the I-95 corridor and some rain and snow as
03:05 you head farther into the interior northeast.
03:08 I mentioned some snow perhaps later this week in New York City.
03:11 It's a cool next few days in the Big Apple, and a little bit of rain could mix with snow
03:15 as we head toward Thursday.
03:17 But we are not expecting any snow accumulation in the city with this one.
