00:05 that it is not required for the operators to buy a modern jeep, but there are conditions.

00:10 They just formed a cooperative.

00:14 There is no jeepney phase-out.

00:16 The purchase of modernized jeepneys is not forced.

00:20 Traditional jeepneys can travel as long as it is roadworthy.

00:25 Although the LTFRB is saying that it is not necessary to buy expensive units,

00:31 but I said that you should issue an incentive order that is proven.

00:35 Aside from the continuous travel of the traditional jeepney,

00:39 the LTFRB also granted several requests of the Pistons,

00:42 such as facilitating consolidation or joining a cooperative where ORCR and petition are required.

00:50 Two to three cooperatives can travel on one route, instead of just one.

00:55 From the previous 15, only 10 cooperatives are required,

01:00 and the previous fines for non-compliance with the PUV modernization will not be charged.

01:06 But even though the Pistons and LTFRB talked, the deadline for consolidation is still not over.

01:11 The December 31 deadline for consolidation was not even announced.

01:15 The Department of Transportation said that the PUVs that will not reach the deadline will be considered as "colorum".
