00:00 drought conditions remain persistent
00:01 through New Mexico, Arizona,
00:02 Southern Colorado,
00:03 even in Southern Utah and Nevada as well.
00:06 But you'll notice California things
00:08 are looking pretty good.
00:09 All things considered now if you've
00:11 been watching here on Accuweather,
00:13 you know we actually a couple months
00:15 ago declared the California drought
00:17 over at least until 2025.
00:19 We've had such a parade of storms here.
00:22 Really last year,
00:23 last winter with a tremendous amount
00:25 of snowfall and rainfall as well,
00:27 but we're currently in a pretty dry stretch.
00:29 We need some more rain if we are
00:32 going to keep that drought away.
00:33 It's a rainy season,
00:35 but today not a drop in sight.
00:37 San Francisco, Sacramento,
00:37 LA, San Diego more in the way of
00:40 sunshine here for all four cities.
00:41 Temperatures in NorCal looking at the
00:43 60s and as we get into SoCal or more
00:45 in the upper 70s even mid 70s in San Diego.
00:48 You know it's warm for this time of year,
00:50 but it's not so bad.
00:51 All things considered,
00:52 at least I think so.
00:53 Anyway,
00:54 we'll take you into tomorrow where
00:55 widespread 70s and 60s in California.
00:57 And then we head further to the
00:59 south of Cedar City 55 degrees.
01:00 48 in Grand Junction,
01:01 Colorado and Phoenix.
01:02 A little further South.
01:03 We keep the warmth around 78 degrees,
01:05 but we are about to experience a big change.
01:07 You know,
01:08 I mentioned it's the wet season in
01:10 California and the Pacific Northwest.
01:11 For that matter,
01:12 I think San Francisco is a great
01:14 example of what we're waiting for here.
01:16 Look at the summer months in San Francisco.
01:18 I mean, you can't buy a drop of rain.
01:21 There's hardly anything really from
01:22 June all the way through September,
01:24 but once we get into the fall and the winter,
01:27 can we see more of a pattern of storms
01:30 being directed at the Pacific Coast?
01:32 And voila,
01:32 we have not one but two storms
01:34 were watching for you can see the
01:36 first one just offshore and then
01:38 out in the Pacific.
01:39 Here's storm number two that we're
01:41 watching for later into next week.
01:42 But here's the pattern you can see again.
01:45 That change that flip of the switch
01:46 really starting on Sunday and going
01:48 through this coming week where we
01:50 have wetter weather in store not just
01:52 for the PNW but the Golden State as well.
01:54 More rain in store for California
01:56 that we could use again.
01:57 It's been a dry stretch.
01:58 That said,
01:59 it's going to make for an uncomfortable
02:00 stretch in terms of travelers.
02:02 Even on I-5 major interstates,
02:03 you want to make sure you're being careful.
02:05 Here's future rainfall Sunday into Monday
02:06 and you can see the state fill in.
02:08 It's pretty abrupt, right?
02:09 Once we get up and down the coast
02:10 of Washington and Oregon and then
02:12 into California heaviest rain right
02:13 along the coastline and then as
02:15 you're heading down toward the Bay area,
02:16 we are watching for that rain to come in.
02:19 And then again,
02:20 that second storm comes in as well.
02:21 Tuesday, Wednesday,
02:22 more in the way of some rainfall.
02:23 Couple showers here and there.
02:25 Periods of rain on Wednesday.
02:26 A quick shower possible Thursday to keep
02:28 the umbrella and the Accuweather app around.
