00:06 DILG is pushing for the implementation of a nationwide ban on fireworks.
00:10 The health department has already started the campaign to avoid fireworks.
00:15 Mark Salazar was on the scene.
00:17 In Mataong, Barangay Addition Hill, in Mandaluyong, the DOH started the campaign to avoid fireworks.
00:28 The campaign is now in a mess because the number of firecracker-related injuries is increasing again for the second year.
00:35 According to the DOH, in Metro Manila, the number of people who were injured by fireworks doubled last year,
00:42 and the primary reason is a quittage.
00:52 The Department of Interior and Local Government is pushing for the implementation of a nationwide ban on fireworks.
00:59 Some LGUs are implementing it in their respective areas, such as Quezon City and Davao City,
01:05 and they have already set up a place for the community fireworks display.
01:09 The campaign also includes in the barangays of Metro Manila the precaution against COVID-19,
01:14 especially since the number of cases is increasing again.
01:16 There are 1,341 active cases in Metro Manila, but these are mild cases.

01:39 But we are not saying that you should not go out, you should not converge.
01:44 We are normal.
01:46 The DOH is giving importance to the fact that the family of the participants can be happy for the mental health of all,
01:53 especially since the level of anxiety and depression in Christmas is also high.
01:59 And the annual reminder to be careful in eating this Christmas.
02:04 If possible, avoid salty foods, fatty foods, do it in moderation.
02:11 We're asking people not to drink before, we said in moderation.
02:17 But what the WHO is saying now is there's no safety level for alcohol.
02:23 During Christmas, the number of people who are being attacked by heart and stroke increases by five percent
02:29 because they forget about the good night and midnight.
