Blustery conditions will usher in winterlike weather across the Midwest and Northeast early this week, and for some areas, the flip in the pattern will also deliver dangerous snow squalls.

00:00 to return to winter as we head toward later today and into tomorrow across the
00:05 Northeast as we're talking about some cold winds in the wake of our storm. We
00:09 have this upper level low. I'll show you that tracking in across the Northeast
00:12 and with that numerous snow showers, gusty winds, bursts of snow and I think
00:17 some travel delays, especially once the sun goes down this afternoon. So later
00:21 today and into tomorrow. All right, here's what's going on in the wake of
00:25 our storm. We have this big dip in the jet stream. I want to point it out here
00:29 across the Midwest. Now underneath that you have the cold air and you also have
00:33 this. You see all this blue, you have some moisture to deal with. So underneath
00:36 this, you have cold area of moisture and there's going to be some snow showers.
00:40 No doubt about that as we go through the rest of tonight and tomorrow. There's
00:42 that upper low moves right across New York State in Pennsylvania late tonight
00:46 tomorrow. Now here's the thing though, watch it quickly leave late Tuesday
00:52 afternoon, Tuesday night. So as we get back in to our Wednesday and Thursday,
00:57 it's going to warm right back up. We have one day where it's going to be
00:59 cold, then it turns milder. There will be some colder air though coming as we
01:03 head toward the holiday weekend, but so certainly no arctic air, lots of snow
01:07 showers. We've been seeing that all all morning, all afternoon. We're going to
01:12 be tracking that moving to the southeast. There it goes as we move
01:15 through the rest of today in the eastern parts of Kentucky, even down
01:18 towards Cincinnati, Indianapolis, some snow showers now from now through six
01:23 o'clock. I think roads are just wet except in southwest lower Michigan.
01:27 But as we head after six sun goes down, it gets colder. There can be bursts of
01:33 snow and then I do think there's going to be some slippery travel here around
01:36 Buffalo, Erie, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Let's take you eastern end of new york
01:40 or a little east along the new york state through away from Batavia,
01:44 Rochester, Syracuse. Snow showers should diminish later tomorrow morning.
01:48 There shouldn't be much left as we head toward midday and the afternoon hours.
01:52 But here's your accumulating snow again. It's not a huge storm for many except
01:56 downwind of Lake Erie, also of 3 to 6 inches around the Syracuse Rochester
02:00 area. And once we get into the ski resorts, let's say like snowshoe West
02:05 Virginia, several inches of snow.
