00:00 I'm meteorologist Michelle McLeod and it's been a little bit of a mess in the
00:11 west if you will. What am I talking about? Well we've been getting in on the snow
00:14 and we'll talk about that in just a moment but we've been seeing places
00:17 having gusty winds and of course icing in some spots. But the snow has been
00:22 ongoing from Saturday and we're going to continue to see this through Sunday
00:26 night. Portions of the Cascades, Sierra and Siskiyou's are going to get 12 to 24
00:30 inches with an AccuWeather local storm max of 40 inches. And it's not just them
00:36 you're seeing in portions of the northern Rockies but we're going to a
00:38 place like Salt Lake City they're also getting in on the 12 to 24 inches and in
00:43 Colorado as well. And you're really gonna like this in Colorado especially when it
00:48 comes time to ski. You've got plenty of fresh powder to play with. Now here's the
00:54 deal for Sunday morning. I wanted to show you this map because what a difference
00:59 just a few miles makes. And I mean a few miles relative to the rest of the
01:04 southwest right? We're taking a look at Denver. Sunday morning you're waking up
01:09 to temps below zero. 11 below zero in Denver. And we're still in Colorado but
01:15 we're in Grand Junction and you're seeing the temps 30 above zero. And
01:20 notice you got one snowflake in Denver that is continental Arctic air. It's dry
01:25 and it's frigid. But then you go to a place like Grand Junction and you're
01:30 getting heavier snow. That's Sunday morning. Now Sunday during the day the
01:36 snow is going to continue to make its way farther inland. Those temps though in
01:39 places like Denver they're not going to bounce back. You're going from 11 degrees
01:43 below zero for Sunday morning, Sunday afternoon only six. Now let me show you
01:50 what the snow is looking like because it was on the coast now it's making its way
01:53 farther inland. You're going Sunday evening you're seeing some more of it
01:57 and portions of Utah and in Colorado and it kind of sticks around. Utah, Colorado
02:01 and Wyoming. Then it starts to make its way a little farther inland and making
02:06 its way farther down by Monday night. And then things kind of quiet down but here
02:11 we go Tuesday I've got some icing and portions of NorCal all the way into
02:16 Oregon with rain towards the coast. There goes your heads up. Stay safe, stay warm
02:22 in this winter weather.
02:26 you
