00:03 >> Boomer, as we discussed last week, it's been a year of significant quarterback
00:08 injuries around the NFL and we'll see a ton of backup stepping into the starting
00:12 role here in week number 16.
00:14 As we look at this list highlighted by Jake Browning for
00:18 the Bengals and another quarterback backup battle in Pittsburgh on Saturday
00:23 against now Mason Rudolph and the list goes on and on.
00:28 Boomer, which backup quarterback now in a starting role for their team,
00:31 do you have the most confidence in here down the home stretch of this NFL season?
00:36 >> Well, look at the schedule.
00:37 Cincinnati's got a really tough finishing schedule.
00:39 This is not gonna be an easy game in Pittsburgh, it never is.
00:42 As a matter of fact, four weeks ago, Jake Browning started against Pittsburgh
00:46 Steelers and really had a hard time deciphering their 3-4 defense and
00:50 their coverages and their pass protections were really a problem.
00:53 I think that both Brian Callahan and Zach Taylor have now pared back
00:58 the offensive game plan and kind of made the understanding of the pass protections,
01:03 especially against the 34 defense of the Pittsburgh Steelers,
01:07 a little bit easier for Jake Browning.
01:08 So I have confidence in him this weekend, there's no question about it.
01:12 I do not have a lot of confidence in Mason Rudolph, nor
01:14 do I have a lot of confidence in Easton Stick.
01:17 Out in LA, listen, I think Josh Allen has been playing great.
01:20 He's been playing off the charts the last four weeks.
01:23 He looks like the guy that we saw back in week two, three, and four.
01:27 As far as the other backups are concerned,
01:29 I do like what Gardner Minshew is doing.
01:31 And certainly, I'm kind of rooting for Joe Flacco.
01:33 He's still kind of tied to my era, if you will.
01:36 He's one of those guys who's comatose when he's dropping back and
01:39 throwing the football.
01:40 He doesn't care where he throws it, he's just gonna rip it in there.
01:43 And I kind of like that attitude, and
01:44 I think that's something that the Browns needed desperately.
01:47 So I think the Bengals and
01:49 the Browns have a really good chance of making it to the playoffs and
01:51 staying there.
01:53 But I would worry, to me, I do worry about Gardner Minshew long term.
01:57 And I worry about what's going on with the Chargers.
01:59 And we all know they're changing over everything anyway, so
02:02 it really doesn't matter much.
