00:00 How would you assess that one today? Probably a disappointing defeat?
00:07 Yeah, very. I think every defeat is disappointing, obviously, but I think the first half was
00:13 particularly disappointing because of the way that we've played all season. To come
00:17 out and play like that in the first half was very disappointing from everyone. I think
00:22 the second half, we were a lot better. I think we really took the game to them, we pressed
00:26 on. We probably didn't give them the respect that we gave them in the first half and I
00:31 think we really put them under a lot of pressure. But yeah, overall it's obviously a disappointing
00:36 result. We pride ourselves on being really good at home, so to get beat, especially in
00:41 that manner in the first half, is particularly disappointing.
00:44 Scott was just telling us he wasn't happy with the fight from some of the players in
00:47 the first half, which was improved in the second half, but he said you can't play for
00:51 45 minutes. Would you agree with that assessment?
00:54 Well, yeah, for a start I have to. He's the manager, isn't he? I think it's easier when
01:00 you're on the side and you can see it a little bit more, I guess. But when we're in the middle
01:04 of it, as players, I don't think we would ever purposely miss a tackle or purposely
01:09 not go in for something. I know the group that we've got in there, we do give everything
01:13 that we've got. We are a very committed group. I think maybe it might have been a little bit
01:18 of a shell shock with how direct they were and maybe the movements that they did. But
01:24 yeah, ultimately we pride ourselves on being a really committed team and really taking
01:27 the game to the opposition. So I think we were just overall just really disappointed
01:31 with how we performed in the first half. I think we came out and tried to put that right
01:36 in the second half and unfortunately we just ran out of time in the end.
01:38 Yeah, I was going to say the second half obviously was much improved. Clubs like Dolos came on
01:42 and had a good impact. Are they the positives you can take from the performance?
01:46 We have to take positives. That's the only thing you can do when you get beat really
01:51 and obviously there's another game in four days' time. So we have to look at the positives
01:56 and not get too caught up too much on the negatives. But yeah, Clyney was absolutely
02:00 brilliant when he came on. The way he can change direction and his fast feet is brilliant.
02:05 I thought he was really good.
02:07 Just a word on the fans. Obviously it was a great turnout tonight.
02:10 Yeah it was. They always turn up in the numbers. Obviously today the atmosphere was helped
02:14 because of the Wimbledon fans as well. So then it gave the Crawley fans somewhat of
02:18 a bounce off. But I thought our boys were absolutely brilliant. In the second half they
02:22 were trying their best to suck the ball into the goal as much as they could and unfortunately
02:26 we couldn't give them the night that they deserved.
02:27 So it's mostly frustrating not to go into Christmas with a win. How can you bounce back
02:32 from that? Obviously you have a great Christmas and then back in action on Boxing Day. So
02:36 as a player how difficult is that to prepare for?
02:40 No it's not. If anything it probably makes it easier because of how disappointed we were
02:44 with that first half performance. I think everyone now is just desperate to put it right
02:48 and it's quite nice that the game has come thick and fast. I think we haven't been in
02:52 too bad of form so I think it's not necessarily been all doom and gloom. But obviously tonight
02:57 we are very disappointed and we're kind of in that mindset now where we just can't wait
03:01 to get to Gillingham and hopefully put things right.
03:03 Just looking ahead to that Gillingham game, obviously you're playing against some former
03:06 players. Does that add a bit of extra incentive for the game or is it just another big game
03:11 against a top team?
03:12 No I don't think it really has too much effect on how we prepare for the game or how we'll
03:17 play. I think it's just maybe, obviously the manager might know a few little inside bits
03:21 about how different players play but as far as us players we go there to try and get the
03:25 three points and it doesn't really matter who we're playing against. That's what we
03:28 want to do.
03:29 What kind of game are you expecting against Gillingham?
03:31 Similar to what it was here I would guess. I know they've changed manager since but I
03:34 think they'll be very solid defensively and it'll be up to us to break them down because
03:39 obviously at the moment we haven't been necessarily scoring as many as we'd like to. So I think
03:43 it's up to the forward lads especially to try and put on a little bit of a performance.
