00:00 You get caught and they make you keep it eligible and
00:04 it's hard to get the ball off on the back end.
00:07 >> A lot of guys showed you guys some respect for Seahawks,
00:11 just as far as the way they play and the way they approach that type of mentality.
00:17 Have you seen something in him similar with the Ravens?
00:19 >> Yeah, I mean, obviously I'm familiar with the Ravens,
00:24 I've been 14 years in the NFL.
00:26 So, Paul Ball, he's a really hard-nosed coach.
00:32 And his team's reflected, they're physical.
00:35 They run to the ball, they create payoffs, and they play to the whistle.
00:43 So, they're a really good coach team, really good defense playing
00:47 together right now, so it's gonna definitely be a challenge.
00:52 >> In the scenario that you just presented,
00:54 where it looks like they're gonna rush seven and they drop guys back,
00:59 whose responsibility is that to make the call on the protection?
01:03 >> No, I mean, you have a protection call and then you take it as a resistance.
01:08 A lot of times, those guys hear the protection call,
01:12 they know which way to center the slide.
01:14 And so, generally, they wanna drop the people towards the slide and
01:18 bring the guys towards the man side.
01:20 So, there's no call you can make during the play or right at the snap.
01:25 It's gonna correct any of that.
01:26 So, basically, you gotta make your protection call and
01:30 you gotta church the keys.
01:31 And then when you can get guys, bump guys off, and
01:37 if your guy dropped, the quicker you can get back in and take one of the middle
01:41 linebackers or linebackers off and run it back, allow him to get out.
01:45 Helps the offense.
01:46 But you really gotta be keyed in on that.
01:49 They don't make it easy.
01:51 They're a good defense for a reason.
01:53 >> And Cardinals tend to do that too.
01:54 They're kind of rough.
01:55 They're intimidating everybody when they're dropping.
01:58 >> Yeah, but the Cardinals didn't make a living out of dropping those tackles.
02:03 And four eyes and defense to me is like, well,
02:08 the outside linebacker is more so than anything.
02:12 But it's really not common to drop.
02:18 You have 350 pound nose tackle into the middle of the field.
02:23 So that's kind of where it's tricky.
02:26 It's easier when the end drops for everybody that bounce back in.
02:32 But if your end's coming and the nose drops,
02:36 then it's up to the guard to have to bounce back.
02:40 And it's just a tough game to see.
02:42 That's why they do it, cuz usually,
02:45 teams usually don't get a chance to exploit the nose tackle in the middle of
02:50 the field because they usually can make you hot.
02:52 >> And how's Brock about recognizing that post-stamp stuff?
02:56 >> I mean, he's been pretty good.
02:58 This is gonna be the first time we've seen this.
03:00 I definitely won't be the last.
03:01 But my knowledge of watching him play, I think he does a pretty good job with it.
03:09 >> Is it easier on week 15 and
03:11 week 16 to kind of figure those things out?
03:16 >> Yeah, I think as an o-line probably, and as an offense,
03:21 more tied together, more and more you do it.
03:24 So being a week 15, we've done it 16 weeks already,
03:28 15 weeks, 14 weeks, whatever.
03:31 And I think we could be better at it, but that literally doesn't change anything.
03:38 We haven't played the way we played, we haven't seen those looks full speed.
03:42 So you can think you know what's coming the whole time, and
03:45 they make changes too.
03:47 They're not gonna walk in with the same team.
03:49 They're gonna have wrinkles for us, and likewise.
03:52 So it'll be tough, and that's one of the things where we gotta be
03:57 together more than ever as an offensive line.
04:01 >> Check a lot of these big and huge games for you guys.
04:06 I see exactly just how good the managers are.
04:09 You like to fight back the Cowboys, you like to have the Eagles, to a lesser
04:12 extent, cuz you come out and you're gonna lose the streak, fight back the Jaguars.
04:15 Is that just for you guys rising to the moment?
04:20 Obviously, you're a good team.
04:22 >> Yeah, I wouldn't say rising to the moment,
04:27 cuz the goal is to treat every moment the same.
04:30 Create damage that you can play by with your eyes closed, right?
04:36 You wanna create a standard that no matter what the vibe of the team is,
04:41 no matter who's down, who's up,
04:43 that we're gonna at least look a certain way every time we touch the field.
04:46 So I think that's more so what it is, and
04:49 anything is just trying to uphold a standard that we all hold each other to,
04:54 hold each other accountable.
04:56 And honestly, I mean, I'll be lying to say that we don't look at
05:02 the team across the sidelines and say, that's a really good team.
05:05 We probably need to be a little bit more tied in, we need to be a little better.
05:08 I mean, we're human, that sinks into everybody's head.
05:11 But I don't think that's the reason why we played good in those times.
05:17 I think it's really, as long as we can play to our standard,
05:20 I think that it'll look pretty good for the most part.
05:24 >> If you win 45-7 Monday night,
05:27 I think the Super Bowl hype's gonna be through the roof.
05:29 >> [LAUGH] Yeah, yeah, crazy thing about it is,
05:33 the next game is still just as important.
05:35 So you know how it go, man.
05:39 It's a hype to the matchup, it's Christmas, everybody's watching.
05:43 I feel like we've had, in the football world, we've had some heavyweight matchups.
05:48 Not just us, but every team, I think it's been really good games.
05:52 So I think it's good for the sport, man.
05:55 Appreciate every and their best, we gotta bring our best and
05:57 make the best team win.
05:58 I can't believe it.
