00:09 John, give me your thoughts on the increased season ticket prices going forward.
00:13 Yeah, Cam, real interesting. It's kind of a double-edged sword.
00:17 For the past few years, the Lions have not really raised ticket prices,
00:21 and you recognize what the Lions have accomplished over the course of three years,
00:27 really steadily building a team that the fans can be proud of,
00:31 an entertaining product, winning a lot of games at Ford Field.
00:34 And unfortunately, it's a business. The NFL is a business.
00:38 And once you recognize that the season ticket demand got to where it was,
00:44 I think there were 7,000 people on the waiting list, the Lions raised prices.
00:48 And unfortunately, steeply, you look at, in some cases, up to an 80% increase.
00:54 Many people felt around a 40% to 60% increase from the 2023 season.
01:00 But when you look at it across the landscape of the entire league,
01:03 this elevation will kind of put the Lions right back with every other team.
01:07 So unfortunately, it's just the name of the game, Cam. The NFL is a hot ticket.
01:11 I believe that if those that currently have season tickets decide not to renew,
01:17 there will be somebody there that will quickly scoop it up.
01:20 I was a former season ticket holder. I can recall the prices.
01:23 They went up pretty much regularly.
01:25 But at this point in time, when you see your ticket price almost double,
01:31 it put a lot of people in a frustrated mood.
01:33 Many took to social media, messaged a lot of the reporters,
01:36 indicating what their prices were and what they are now.
01:40 And it's going to make many people have a decision.
01:42 And unfortunately, you look at it, it's a hot ticket.
01:45 And for some people, they're going to be priced out.
01:48 And it is unfortunate for a fan base that's really rabid,
01:51 has shown support that some people may be priced out.
01:54 But it's professional sports.
01:56 And when you have the age-old supply and demand situation,
02:01 as long as the Lions are going to be a hot ticket in town,
02:04 unfortunately, the prices are going to continue to rise.
02:07 And that's the name of the game. It's not only the Lions. It's league-wide.
02:11 Ticket prices for good teams are very much elevated.
02:15 So for a fan, they've got to decide if they do want to invest in the Detroit Lions.
02:20 For me, I've become a media member.
02:22 I definitely gave up my season tickets because of a lot of the losing.
02:26 And, Cam, for those that do end up giving up their season tickets,
02:30 you've got to remember, too, the opportunity to watch the team
02:33 and still support them is still just fine.
