00:00 "You guys are just eating dog food?"
00:01 "It's all we eat."
00:02 "Yeah, sometimes I order a salad, but when I'm being bad."
00:05 Welcome to Miz Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the best
00:09 please-don't-destroy creations we've been treated to on Saturday Night Live so far,
00:14 cut for timepieces included.
00:15 Number 10. Street Eats
00:24 Let's be real, there are an endless amount of foodie shows,
00:28 and we've seen enough to appreciate the accuracy of please-don't-destroy's street eats.
00:33 "Today we're gonna show you our New York, the real New York, one bite at a time."
00:37 In this parody skit, Connecticut transplants and food bros Rocco, Tabby Cat, and Donald Trump
00:43 attempt and fail to give their audience a look at an authentic New York City dining experience.
00:48 "Rice."
00:50 "The thinking man's chips."
00:55 Their staggering confidence, inability to read the room, and unhinged yelling earn them many
01:00 a side-eye, and their clear misunderstanding of any and all cultures lead to confrontational
01:05 interactions that leave us howling.
01:08 "Hey, yo boss, let me get some mayo and bread."
01:10 "Hey, it's a line."
01:14 "Awesome, so authentic. I got it."
01:16 "Hey, forget about it."
01:19 It shows all the things not to say to New Yorkers.
01:23 We hope PDD makes this into a full series.
01:26 Number 9. We Got Her A Cat
01:31 In this season 47 skit, the guys attempt to give Catwoman actress Zoe Kravitz
01:36 an adorable woman cat named Snugglebucket.
01:39 "Hey guys, what?"
01:39 "Shut the door, Zoe, shut the door!"
01:42 "What?"
01:42 "We lost the cat!"
01:43 "Shut it, shut it, close it!"
01:46 "Close the door!"
01:47 But when she repeatedly disappears, as felines often do,
01:50 the trio lose their minds trying to find her.
01:53 "God, why did we ask for the smallest and fastest cat they had?"
01:56 "Man, is it in your desk?"
01:57 "No, it's just a stupid dog."
01:59 A rogue Paul Dano even appears to assist his The Batman co-star in the search before
02:08 settling back into his spot under the couch, which is actually pretty cat-like of him.
02:12 "Paul, you should probably head out too, man."
02:14 "Alright, see ya."
02:15 "No, no, no, not, not, don't."
02:17 "Goodnight, guys."
02:19 Everything about this kit is hysterical, literally, and we love it when hosts join
02:23 in on the chaotic fun of Please Don't Destroy. Plus, we get to see a cute kitty and pup.
02:28 Number 8. New Personalities
02:31 You know how sometimes one friend does something wild and gradually the others in the group are
02:36 convinced to do the same?
02:37 "What's going on with the hat?"
02:38 "Oh, new year, new me. Might be a hat guy now."
02:41 John, Martin, and Ben know all about this, utilizing it brilliantly in many sketches.
02:46 This is especially true when it comes to changing aspects about themselves,
02:50 like getting jarring plastic surgery, one of the best examples of John's 2022 resolution
02:56 to transform his personality. He tries out "hat guy," "creepy vibes guy," and "frantic research
03:01 guy."
03:02 "My research! Years of my research! It's been destroyed! I'll never find the cure again!"
03:10 Martin and Ben join in with other hilarious, highly specific, and recognizable impressions
03:14 of everyone from a Southern waitress to Severus Snape.
03:17 "Just feel more confident being one of those guys who's just like, 'Mr. Potter.'"
03:21 "That's Snape."
03:22 "Who?"
03:23 "I just mean one of those guys who's like, 'I teach potions at Hogwarts.'"
03:27 They also throw in a deep cut Jimmy Neutron reference.
03:30 "Dude, what about this guy?"
03:32 "Hi, I'm Paul!"
03:33 "From Jimmy Neutron!"
03:34 Honestly, we'd watch an entire movie of them cycling through various identities.
03:39 Number 7. Tommy
03:41 In this John Hughes-esque coming-of-age parody, the P.D.D. guys venture outside their S&L office
03:48 to play high schoolers at a house party.
03:50 "John, this party rocks. It's like legendary."
03:54 "Totally."
03:54 Donning Letterman jackets, they talk about college applications as they toast to their
03:59 upcoming epic senior year. But then Tommy Porkchop, played by host Brendan Gleeson,
04:04 kills the mood by revealing he's actually Seamus O'Sullivan, a 67-year-old married Irishman
04:09 and Gossip Girl fan with 13 children.
04:12 "Think about it. When you were drinking crappy beer, I was drinking…"
04:15 "Boy!"
04:16 "…a glass of whiskey with a big square ice cube."
04:20 Despite the glaringly obvious signs of his true age, his buddies are shook.
04:24 What makes this sketch so ridiculously funny is Gleeson's lack of de-aging effects
04:29 and Tommy/Seamus not even wearing any disguises beyond a hoodie.
04:33 "You sound like my wife."
04:34 "Dude, you have a wife?"
04:36 "Yes, and 13 children."
04:38 "Do you think that would be bad at me?"
04:40 "Of course Seamus would be mad at you!"
04:42 The Bestie quartet reconciling an ending with their own
04:45 "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" moment doesn't hurt either.
04:48 "I feel infinite."
04:50 "I feel infinite!"
04:57 Number 6. Future Selves
05:00 Martin, Ben, and John get a preview of the bleak times ahead when they meet.
05:04 Wait for it… future versions of themselves.
05:08 "Who the hell are you?"
05:09 "We're you. From the future."
05:12 The old time travelers have a crucial warning about the impending apocalypse caused by climate
05:23 change. But the guys are too distracted by this bizarre moment and start hitting them
05:28 with tons of questions, as anyone would.
05:30 "Are we rich?"
05:31 "No, actually, ain't a lot of debt."
05:33 "Uh oh."
05:34 "Oh, debt?"
05:34 "Uh oh."
05:35 They learn about the foreseen hardships in their lives, which include debt,
05:38 divorce, and an unusually thick Italian accent.
05:41 "Show some respect over here."
05:43 "Stop. What the hell happened to you? Why are you like way more Italian than I am?"
05:47 "Oh, wait."
05:48 "Oh, wait."
05:49 "Why are you talking like that?"
05:50 "Talking like what?"
05:50 Their exasperated critiques and super disappointed reactions to the sad details
05:55 of their imminent lives are priceless.
05:57 "Oh, one last thing before we go."
06:03 "Live from New York, it's Saturday night!"
06:06 "Who's that?"
06:09 "Just go, just go."
06:11 Number 5. Martin's Friend
06:14 Get ready, because this one's a wild ride from beginning to end.
06:18 "Con, these are the guys I was telling you about?"
06:20 "What's up?"
06:21 "Hey."
06:22 In the office, Martin casually makes dinner plans with his young buddy Connor,
06:25 who also happens to be his soccer teammate. True to PDD form, Ben and John are nearly
06:30 speechless witnessing this strange friendship that some people would find concerning.
06:35 "Martin, why are you friends with a 10-year-old?"
06:37 "Because we get along, man."
06:38 But when John starts choking, the kiddo springs into action and performs the Heimlich maneuver,
06:43 a set to Chad Kruger's "Hero."
06:45 "Can they say that a hero is..."
06:49 The slow-motion sequence is the highlight of the video,
06:52 though we'd argue that every second is top-tier, especially the Colin Jost cameo.
06:58 "Connor, I got your email. I love that update,
07:00 Chum. Let's drink some PESI!"
07:03 Patrick Scott McDermott gives Connor the perfect balance of snarky and cool,
07:10 proof that this kid is definitely going places.
07:13 Number 4. Hard Seltzer
07:15 In October 2021, we were introduced to SNL writers and comic geniuses Martin
07:20 Herlihy, John Higgins, and Ben Marshall, aka Please Don't Destroy.
07:25 "What kind?"
07:25 "Mr. J.C. Penney."
07:27 "The department store?"
07:30 "Yeah, they're doing hard seltzers now."
07:32 In their first sketch for the show, the trio poke fun at the growing spiked beverage trend
07:37 that dominated the industry for some time. It begins with Martin sipping on Belts and
07:42 Ties from the J.C. Penney Hard Seltzer Variety Pack.
07:45 "Does it taste like belts and ties?"
07:47 "No, it tastes like grape."
07:49 When Ben strolls in with his jiffy lubes,
07:51 John goes into full grill mode in an effort to wrap his head around these outrageous products.
07:56 "What is going on?"
07:57 "Come on, everyone's doing it. J.C. Penney, Jiffy Lube, Hexon, Verizon."
08:01 Apparently everyone has a branded seltzer,
08:03 including dentists with a positively disgusting routine cleaning flavor.
08:07 These rough two minutes of madness were just the taste of PDD's penchant for the surreal,
08:12 and it was enough to get us hooked.
08:14 "Cheers, brothers."
08:15 "Come on."
08:16 "I was wrong."
08:16 "Desk hard seltzer. It's in the desk."
08:20 Number 3. Rami Wants a Treat
08:22 Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time in 2021,
08:28 but the real honor? Being part of a Please Don't Destroy video.
08:31 "Almost through the first week."
08:32 "Yeah."
08:33 "And the whole time I feel like I've been on good behavior."
08:38 When Malek visits the guys in their office, he poses an interesting question.
08:42 "It just feels like, if there's no reward, why should I be on good behavior at all?"
08:48 While a mousepad and an acapella rendition of "Hotline Bling" seem to be acceptable treats,
08:52 the good boy still wants more.
08:54 "I know when that hotline bling, that can only mean one thing."
08:59 As with most, if not all, PDD sketches, it doesn't take long before it all goes
09:03 completely off the rails. Sure, Malek's in-character actions are childish, but you've
09:08 got to admit, the intense need for attention and nonchalant destruction he exhibits is hilarious.
09:13 Seriously, the guys perfectly play into the on-brand awkwardness and unnerving vibe the
09:18 host brings to the part.
09:19 "But I'm really gonna miss you guys."
09:21 "You're gonna make so many new friends."
09:25 "And we'll still be here for you. So what do you say we just-"
09:28 "Oh, come on, man!"
09:29 "Oh, I should have shot it."
09:31 Number 2. Three Sad Virgins
09:33 Pete Davidson doesn't hold back when it comes to roasting himself.
09:37 "Hey, what's up, boys?"
09:38 "Hey, Pete in the house."
09:40 "Pete there!"
09:41 "The king of Staten Island himself."
09:43 "What?"
09:44 "Nothing, what's up?"
09:45 But in this catchy and comical music video, Martin, Ben, and John are on the receiving
09:50 end of his sick burns.
09:51 "All my friends are cool and famous, except these three sad virgins."
09:56 "Three sad virgins, whoa. Three sad virgins, whoa."
09:59 The guys are conflicted because they admire Davidson, and obviously want to work with
10:03 him. But man, these lyrics are pretty brutal. The surprise addition of Taylor Swift takes
10:09 it to another level, notably delivering a bridge that has no business going that hard.
10:14 "And none of them have the guts to take their shirts off in front of a girl."
10:19 Everything about the number is riveting. You can't help but have your eyes glued to
10:23 the screen. And don't be surprised if you're singing along by the end, too.
10:26 "Three sad virgins, whoa. And they're gonna die alone."
10:31 Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
10:35 Road Trip. The guys deliver another banger and bring Jenna Ortega along for the ride.
10:39 The Original Princes of Comedy. Host Pete Davidson learns about PDD's hilarious origins.
10:52 "Were you like a Def Jam comic?"
10:55 "Yeah, we all were."
10:56 "Live at the Apollo, it's the Original Princes of Comedy. They might be small,
11:01 but they got big attitudes."
11:03 Calling Angie. Letting loose with a string of impulsive insults directed at John's ex.
11:08 "Um, f--- you."
11:10 "No, why are you saying that?"
11:11 "What am I doing, dude? I'm freaking out."
11:13 The Stakeout. Woody Harrelson helps Ben spy on his so-called friends.
11:17 "Oh, man. Oh, my God."
11:19 "Oh, my God, baby, dude."
11:22 Wellness. Okay, this one might be uncomfortably relatable.
11:26 "Ever since the pandemic, the light just keeps getting dimmer."
11:28 "Dimmer, yeah."
11:29 "Fading, yeah."

11:45 1. Good Variant
11:49 Please Don't Destroy imagines an alternate universe where a good COVID variant exists,
11:54 one with symptoms that seemingly only improve your life.
11:56 "Wait, wait, wait. Apparently this one is good."
11:59 "What do you mean it's good?"
12:01 "I don't know. Let me just turn on the news."
12:03 "They're calling it a miracle. A new strain of COVID-19 that's mutated so hard, it's actually
12:11 good."
12:11 This absolute fever dream of a sketch has everything we didn't know we needed,
12:15 including real-life Pokemon roaming around.
12:17 SNL writer Alam and host John Mulaney plays a gleeful newsman letting loose,
12:22 and Today's Al Roker randomly appears with an insane party sub.
12:27 "Did somebody say hungry?"
12:29 We're also treated to a dancing synth playing Paul Rudd, who is 1000% committed to the bit.
12:36 "I tested positive for the Galbini variant and it actually made me sick."
12:40 "Oh, shoot."
12:42 "I'm playing synth!"
12:43 It's just bursting with dope positive energy, so we wish this was our actual reality,
12:52 but in the meantime, we'll settle for playing it on repeat.
12:55 "Oh, my God!"
