UCLA and Washington the surprises
Transcript
00:00 Arizona looks like the class of the field. I mean, they're the only ones in the top 25 and Arizona's in the top 5.
00:07 So they are clearly the best team at this point. Now, UCLA has been a major disappointment.
00:13 Now, I know they have a loss of a lot of talent from that team, but you just sort of expect Mick Cronin to make something out of that squad.
00:22 And I still expect him to do so. Now, I don't know whether they're going to challenge Arizona for the conference title,
00:27 but they've got to be better than what they've shown so far. The surprise so far is Washington.
00:32 And the one that's the game that sticks out is that win over Gonzaga.
00:36 That's a really nice win for Washington. Whether they can continue to do that when teams are preparing for them, we'll see.
00:44 USC is another team that sort of hasn't been as good as we expected them to be.
00:48 I expect them to be one of the standout defensive teams, as they usually are under infield.
00:53 Hasn't been that way. Cal is a big question mark.
00:57 They have some nice individual players, and they've very seldom had all five of their top players together.
01:04 I think they will when conference play starts, so we'll see whether that actually has an effect on them.
01:11 Washington State is an interesting squad. They're going to be tough to beat, especially up in Pullman.
01:18 So we'll see what happens.
