00:00 Welcome to WatchMojo and today we're exploring quests in video games that were easy for most
00:11 players to miss.
00:21 Number 10.
00:30 As you work to free Tsushima from the grip of the Mongols, you'll find plenty of citizens
00:33 in need of aid.
00:35 But this quest involves following the trail of characters you not only cannot help, but
00:38 never meet.
00:39 You'll find a letter at a survivor's camp near Ariake Lighthouse in Act 1.
00:44 Written for someone named Toku, it leads you to several other locations as this unseen
00:48 NPC's family searches for safe passage off the island.
00:51 The remaining three letters are fairly well hidden, so it's likely many players ended
00:55 up missing them.
00:56 The trail leads you in the direction of the Sibling Rocks, where you can find a ton of
01:00 supplies.
01:01 But the final letter leaves Toku and their family's ultimate fate a mystery.
01:08 Number 9.
01:09 Reunited with Griff - Star Wars, Knights of the Old Republic
01:21 One of the many companions you can travel with in KOTOR is Mission Vow, a Twi'lek who
01:26 grew up alone after her brother abandoned her.
01:28 You can complete a quest to have her reunite with her sibling Griff, but there are several
01:32 ways to completely miss it.
01:34 You have to have learned about Griff by speaking with Mission, and if you don't have her in
01:37 your party at a certain point in the story, you'll never encounter Lena, Griff's ex,
01:42 who tells you he's on Tatooine.
01:44 Additionally, if you go to Tatooine first and head to the Sand People enclave where
01:48 he's meant to be, he'll be absent and lost forever.
01:51 This took a bit too much foresight for most players.
02:00 Number 8.
02:01 The Secret People - The Outer Worlds
02:03 Yeah, we'd say that's a pretty accurate title for a list like this.
02:16 Obsidian packed The Outer Worlds with quests, but The Secret People is easy to miss, especially
02:21 on a first playthrough.
02:22 Players gain it by talking to Velma Ballard, a completely inconspicuous worker NPC at Sultana
02:28 Warehouse.
02:29 He tells you one worker hasn't been showing up recently, prompting you to track him down.
02:33 You'll eventually find his remains in a house of cannibals, sorry to say, next to a pretty
02:37 awesome sword that lets you swing it continuously rather than use the standard combo.
02:42 Considering The Outer Worlds is a fairly big game, and that Velma practically blends into
02:46 the background, you might have missed it.
02:58 Number 7.
02:59 Knuckle's Scavenger Hunt - The Legend of Zelda - The Wind Waker
03:08 After Link meets Tingle in The Wind Waker, the odd map maker gives him the Tingle Tuner.
03:12 This item lets you access a secret shop, but only if you have a Game Boy Advance and a
03:16 Link Cable.
03:17 However, that's not all it does.
03:19 You later find out about Knuckle, Tingle's brother he had a falling out with.
03:23 By visiting Outset Island and using the Tingle Tuner specifically by the docks, you'll receive
03:27 a Scavenger Hunt quest from Knuckle.
03:30 After going to several spots on the map, Knuckle will then appear on Tingle Island.
03:34 Not only did this quest take external sources, but you're never told where to go to start
03:38 it.
03:40 Number 6.
03:41 Flesh For Sale - The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt
03:50 It's downright tragic to hear about a hidden quest after it becomes locked.
03:53 In The Witcher 3, you'll find the Flesh For Sale quest in Trotheim of the Skellige region.
03:58 The quest can take a number of turns depending on how you approach the village and how you
04:01 interact with the pirates holding it.
04:03 But in the end, Geralt frees a group of innocents from being sold into slavery.
04:07 However, when you first gain access to Skellige, you'll be under the recommended level.
04:12 Flesh For Sale also becomes locked if you proceed too far in another quest elsewhere,
04:16 which is a lower level than this one.
04:18 This would have been easily missed by any cautionary player.
04:27 Number 5.
04:28 Summoning Karstag - The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim
04:35 The open-world action RPG is a great genre for missable quests.
04:39 Skyrim features more than its fair share.
04:41 Added through DLC, Summoning Karstag is an unmarked quest meaning it won't show up on
04:45 your map.
04:46 Instead, inside the Glacial Cave in Solstheim, you can find the skull of the titular Frost
04:51 Giant, a boss from the third game.
04:53 You then have to take it to the Castle Karstag Ruins, locate his throne, and place it there
04:57 to summon his ghost, who proceeds to beat the crap out of you.
05:01 But if you win, you can summon Karstag to fight alongside you, though only up to three
05:05 times as he's just too powerful.
05:07 It's iconic now, but was a fascinating discovery back in the day.
05:14 Number 4.
05:15 Jar Bairn - Elden Ring
05:26 Elden Ring has many NPC questlines whose paths are anything but obvious.
05:30 Jar Bairn can be found in Jarburg, a village consisting of pottery-based NPCs.
05:35 While he's easy to find, his quest isn't.
05:38 That's because you must have advanced through the questlines for two other NPCs, Alexander
05:41 and Dialos.
05:43 Not only that, but you'll have to revisit or reload Jarburg several times to access
05:47 new dialogue before Jar Bairn finally tells you about a group of poachers he's worried
05:51 about.
05:52 Although the village will seem safe, returning again will reveal most of its citizens destroyed.
05:56 After reloading to get through all of Jar Bairn's dialogue, you then must finish Alexander's
06:01 quest, give Jar Bairn the Fallen Hero's innards, and reload once again to get the companion
06:05 Jar Talisman before you're finally done.
06:13 Number 3.
06:14 Searching for Cheryl - Fallout 3
06:20 Bethesda sure does love an unmarked quest.
06:23 In L'Enfant South of Fallout 3, players can find a grave with a note inside that details
06:27 a group's search for a woman named Cheryl.
06:29 Like the Ghost of Tsushima quest, this note leads you to several locations.
06:33 It's just that they're further spread out and more well-hidden.
06:36 While players likely visited these places through another questline, these logs are
06:40 very easy to pass over.
06:42 They eventually lead you to discover that Manny, the party's leader and Cheryl's brother,
06:46 never found his sister.
06:47 After a fight with some powerful enemies, you can find his body, which offers a bit
06:51 of loot as a reward.
06:57 Number 2.
06:58 Emil's Determination - NieR Automata
07:07 Completing everything in NieR Automata is a daunting task.
07:10 One of its 26 endings can only be unlocked in the middle of a fight at the end of a very
07:15 lengthy quest.
07:16 First, you'll have to complete the Emil's Memories quest.
07:19 This ends in a very tough fight against the shopkeep and can only happen after your first
07:23 playthrough.
07:24 This is also the only way to get the Emil head weapons, and you have to upgrade every
07:28 weapon in the game to level 4 in order to unlock Emil's determination.
07:32 After the myriad of upgrades, you'll face Emil again and only unlock ending Y if you
07:37 allow him to self-destruct.
07:39 But since that doesn't complete the quest, you'll have to fight him twice.
08:02 Number 1.
08:03 The Nero Family - Final Fantasy IX
08:13 Final Fantasy is a treasure trove of miscible quests, items, and characters.
08:17 But few hold a legacy like the Nero Family.
08:20 Towards the end of Final Fantasy IX, Zidane can find Bonero and Zanero at the Tantalus
08:24 Hideout.
08:25 The brothers will talk about missing people, but there's absolutely nothing to tell you
08:28 this is the beginning of a secret quest.
08:31 In order to cause their missing family to appear, players will need to start the final
08:34 dungeon, Memoria, and return to the hideout after a major event or battle.
08:39 There are 8 missing Nero members, so you'll have to do this a lot to earn a Protect Ring.
08:44 Most of us never found this, as the only mention of it was in a Japanese-only guide.
