00:00 Welcome to Good Bites Takeout. This is the show where I make the most of the fact that we can't go out to eat, so instead I order in.
00:05 I'm Alex and today I have a very sweet treat for you.
00:09 Today is the day that I found out there are more types of flavors of cinnamon bun other than just original.
00:16 See, my whole life that's what I thought it was, but there's a new place in Montreal called Bon Appétit.
00:21 Three words. Dunkaroos Cinnamon Bun. They make that and a whole lot more.
00:26 You're gonna freak out. Let's get to the order.

00:40 The Dunka Bun. A Dunkaroo bun layered with graham crackers and their signature Dunkaroo inspired icing.
00:46 The Fudge and Bon. A chocolate bun layered with Oreos topped with their signature frosting and Oreo crumbs.
00:52 The Velvet and Oueg. A red velvet bun topped with a cream cheese frosting, chocolate drizzle and a chunk of white chocolate.
01:00 The Bunny Bun. A carrot cake bun topped with cream cheese flavored icing, drizzled caramel and walnut crumbs with a dropper filled with caramel.
01:09 The Love You Berry Much. A strawberry rhubarb infused bun topped with a berry frosting and shaved white chocolate.
01:16 And the OG Cinnamon. Cinnamon, cream cheese frosting, that's it.
01:20 Alright, I'm gonna kick things off with the Dunka Bun. This is what caught my eye in the first place.
01:24 Can we just talk about how adorable this is? Look at that. A tiny little teddy bear sticking out the top.

01:34 Oh my god. This tastes like nostalgia. Get me a Tamagotchi and let's go see Space Jam because that's what this tastes like.
01:40 I have no other words. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Nailed it. Dunkaroos. It's literally Dunkaroos.
01:47 Next up we have the Fudge and Bone. Now look, I'm basic when it comes to ice cream and desserts and flavors and when you put Oreo on something, I'll eat it.
01:57 I was expecting the chocolate inside. The Oreo was perfect. Anybody that thinks Oreo was played out, you need to try this. Okay?
02:04 This is gonna save Oreo. I forgot to mention how amazing all of these smell.
02:08 We're at the red velvet now and I'm gonna cut right through this white chocolate at the top there. Look at that.
02:13 That's a little not safe for work right there. Mm.
02:19 The thing about red velvet is it needs to mix beautifully with the cream cheese topping and it does.
02:25 Pull out the red carpet for the red velvet. It is that good.
02:28 This is the bunny bun. Okay, I don't know how I feel about carrot cake in a cinnamon bun. Doesn't make sense to me.
02:33 But you have this cute little heart-shaped receptacle that contains some caramel.
02:38 Oh.
02:45 Okay, this is a cake. I'm gonna be honest with you. This is a cake in the shape of a cinnamon bun. But it's so good.
02:51 Moving on to the Love You Very Much, which I gotta say is maybe the prettiest of the of the options that they have.
02:58 Strawberry robot. Mm. Mm. Oh my God.
03:04 I don't know what this is, but this is one of the best things I've ever tasted. It's like a like a jam paste.

03:14 And I'm going to end things off here with the OG cinnamon. The one you know and love.
03:17 It's the one you've had a million times. The only one I thought existed up until today.
03:21 It's pretty good. It's pretty good. Even if you want to play it safe, you can't lose.
03:24 Now that I'm done with the buns, let's talk to the owners and find out how they reinvented cinnamon buns in 2021.
03:30 What's the backstory here? First of all, are you guys friends? Did you guys know each other beforehand? Are you family? What's going on?
03:36 We met a long time ago at Saturday school, actually. So we've been friends since like childhood.
03:40 And then we work together in restaurants. So we always like we're always connected throughout our whole lives.
03:45 And then how did this come about? Basically, we both have a love for cooking and baking.
03:51 And I went to New York for a month in October to visit my sisters.
03:55 And I was like, I really want like a cinnamon bun. But like I want an Oreo cinnamon bun.
04:01 So then I was looking up recipes. Oh, where can I find an Oreo cinnamon bun?
04:05 I'm like, hey, let's just make it. So obviously I made it. I was like, this is delicious.
04:09 Where can I find this in Montreal? Nowhere. It doesn't exist.
04:13 We infuse our cinnamon buns with different flavors, the different toppings. So it's making it more fun.
04:18 If people want to order your buns right now, how do they do that?
04:21 For now, it's Instagram and Facebook and email. But slowly, slowly, a website definitely is going to come through.
