00:02 - I think that last night though,
00:04 is one of those times where I don't think anybody
00:06 was thinking about that, Mike,
00:07 'cause the two games were so great
00:09 and they were so outstanding
00:10 and they had so much drama in both of them
00:13 that a lot of people left saying,
00:15 maybe the committee did get it right,
00:16 even though they probably didn't.
00:19 - They didn't get it right, unless Mike,
00:22 it's a television show and not a legitimate
00:25 championship enterprise.
00:27 - As a television show, it could not have been better.
00:30 Maybe have Seinfeld come out at halftime and tell jokes,
00:33 but I don't know how else you could have made it
00:36 a better television production than it was
00:40 over the course of those two games.
00:42 It was wonderful football,
00:43 it was as entertaining as could be.
00:45 One game goes into the overtime,
00:47 one goes down to the final play.
00:49 It couldn't have been better in that sense.
00:51 But Florida State still had earned the opportunity
00:54 to compete for a championship and was not granted it
00:58 on the basis of SEC long-time superiority,
01:03 Alabama's brand, and the fact that Florida State
01:08 was somewhat diminished by the absence
01:10 of its starting quarterback.
01:12 All of that should not have been a factor.
01:14 And it's again, why next year,
01:16 we don't have to worry about that.
01:18 You can seed it, however, but you can't deny next year,
01:22 the next Florida State, which wins the ACC say,
01:26 and completes a perfect season,
01:29 you can't deny them an entry.
01:31 And that's the beautiful thing about 2024
01:33 in college football.
01:34 It's what we've been waiting for for a century.
