Fireworks-related injuries now nearly 600

00:00 The numbers are still piling up, but come as no surprise.
00:04 Latest count has the number of fireworks-related injuries hitting 577.
00:10 So says the Department of Health, or DOH, on its 13th day of monitoring on those sustaining
00:16 blast injuries or burns from firecracker and pyro-laden revelry celebrating the arrival
00:22 of the new year.
00:23 As always, the megacity, or the National Capital Region, leads the way in obstinacy and noncompliance
00:31 with over 300 injuries, followed by Ilocos Region with 55, Central Luzon with 44, and
00:37 the Calabarzon Region chalking up 39 senseless injuries.
00:42 Meanwhile, the Department of Health, as has confirmed, a casualty in the Davao Region
00:47 of a 23-year-old young adult who sustained a fatal upper back wound as a result of a
00:54 stray bullet.
00:55 An 18-year-old young guy unfortunately also lost his life from a firecracker blast.
01:01 The DOH will continue to post its findings this week on the injuries sustained from fireworks.
