00:20 Number 10. Swapping Miraculouses
00:24 It's always a treat getting to see the holders mix things up.
00:28 The most iconic swap has to be Mr. Bug and Lady Noir,
00:32 but we've also enjoyed seeing Alia become Scarabella, among some other iconic traits.
00:38 Plagg and Marinette, and Tiki and Adrien make for interesting duos,
00:43 and a breath of fresh air in a series that can sometimes get overly formulaic.
00:48 "You are Cat Noir, correct?"
00:50 "And that over there is... Ladybug?"
00:53 "There's been a little mix-up with the Miraculous. I'm Tiki, pleased to meet you."
00:57 While there's certainly a learning curve the first time in season 3's Reflect Doll,
01:02 when we see them step up to the challenge again in season 5's Passion,
01:05 they seem a lot more comfortable in the other's roles.

01:09 "Of course I trust you. Go! I'll handle Safari!"
01:12 By this time, there's not only a shift in the love square,
01:15 but they've already had a chance to fight a mile in each other's shoes.
01:19 "Why don't you try helping me instead of making fun of me?"
01:21 "Apparently Bugaboy doesn't have a sense of humor."
01:25 Number 9. Marinette tells Alia she's Ladybug.
01:29 "You're right! I keep secrets! I lie all the time!
01:32 I lie to my friends, to my parents, to everyone!
01:35 And the worst thing is, I can't do it any other way!"
01:37 As with all media that involves superheroes hiding their identities,
01:41 we always wait with bated breath for the moment someone finds out.
01:45 "You're... Carapace? But... the two of you know?
01:54 You know each other's secret identities?"
01:55 For all the time, three whole seasons worth,
01:58 that Marinette stressed the importance of keeping her civilian life
02:01 separate from her heroine one, we thought this moment would never come.
02:05 Luckily, Alia has been proving herself a true friend since the very beginning.
02:10 And when Marinette can no longer do it all on her own,
02:13 she confides in her best friend.
02:15 "It'll mess up everything, maybe even destroy it!"
02:17 "Marinette, I'm your very best friend."
02:20 "And I... am Ladybug."
02:24 It's a gentle moment and marks an exciting turning point in the series
02:28 as Alia becomes a bigger player.
02:30 Number 8. Luca Finds Out.
02:33 "You're not listening, Marinette."
02:35 "Everyone's allowed to be in love, even when things get complicated and-
02:38 What? Did you just call me?
02:42 How about Cat Noir?"
02:47 "I know two."
02:48 So yes, Marinette telling Alia was a big deal.
02:51 But an even bigger deal was Luca finding out the identities of both Ladybug and Cat Noir.
02:57 The show has shown us time and time again what happens if they find out each other's identities,
03:03 as holders of the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculouses.
03:06 "No one can know about our secret identities."
03:08 "Count on me."
03:09 This puts all three of them in jeopardy the moment Luca finds out.
03:13 Since, realistically, all it would have taken was one bad day.
03:17 And Luca could have been akumatized, divulging Ladybug and Cat in the process.
03:22 "Marinette?"
03:24 It makes for some great tension the following season when Marinette discovers that Luca knows,
03:31 and he makes the decision to leave Paris in order to keep everyone safe.
03:35 Number 7. The Aggressed History.
03:38 "It will allow you to give life to your dream and to control it."
03:42 For those of you who were shouting the centi-monster theory from the roofs
03:45 long before this episode, you were probably stoked to find out that you were right.
03:50 While we don't know yet what season 6 will bring, right now, it's been heavily alluded
03:54 that Adrien, Felix, and Kagami are all centi-monsters.
03:59 "Until one day, the curious princess learned that she was expecting. She was pregnant."
04:06 The lore of this show is certainly above anything we expected when we first began watching,
04:10 but we're glad to see the writers have tracked into more mature themes,
04:14 and a slightly darker tone. The Aggressed Family history unfolded at a nice pace
04:19 that kept fans guessing and theorizing, so the whole story culminating in representation was
04:25 especially gratifying.
04:27 "The child realized that his life was linked to that ring,
04:30 and it was only when his father died that he could recover it, and his freedom along with it."
04:36 Number 6. The Plane Kiss.
04:38 "Adrien!"
04:39 "Adrien!"
04:49 How could you pick just one kiss? We hear you shouting in the comments.
04:53 Or how could you pick this kiss? We know. Maricat was one of the most popular ships in the fandom,
04:59 so we all lost our minds when it looked like it was becoming canon.
05:03 "What about this?"
05:14 With that said, of all the kisses these two have ever shared, the plane one felt the most real.
05:20 It wasn't a peck to defeat a villain, or one they'd soon forget, and it came at a time when
05:25 both of them were sure about their feelings. It also was riding off the high from coming
05:29 closer than ever to having their identities revealed, as well as a level up in their powers.
05:35 "Cracking jokes was all I was ever good for."
05:37 "You were perfect, kitty cat."
05:39 Number 5. All the times they ever found out each other's identities.
05:48 "Black, claw them!"
05:49 "Cataclysm!"
05:54 "Adrien!"
05:58 Since this is the moment we're all waiting for and the show seems to know it,
06:02 they've shown us what feels like every possible scenario,
06:05 and the reasons why it couldn't happen so long as Hawk Moth was active.
06:11 Although none of them were the true reveal, it was sweet seeing their reactions every time.
06:15 "Don't worry about Cat. I mean that. It happens to everyone."
06:19 We also got a glimpse of what a true romantic relationship would look like between them,
06:27 at times when that seemed so far out of reach. And a special shout out to Adrien's reaction here.
06:33 "No, it's that. I just found out that one of my closest friends
06:36 is the person I love and admire most in the world."
06:39 Cue the swooning.
06:40 Number 4. Cat Blanc.
06:42 "I would put that cataclysm away if I were you, Adrien."
06:46 "How do you-"
06:48 You know an episode made an impact when we're all still talking about it several seasons later.
06:56 Not only is it epic with the whole time travel storyline,
06:59 but we're also introduced to possibly our favorite villain yet.
07:03 "Give me your miraculous so I can make everything go back to the way it was!"
07:06 This is another episode that shows us a major what-if scenario,
07:10 this one leading to the destruction of all of Paris.
07:13 It's our first real look at why Ladybug and Cat Noir can't be together just yet,
07:19 and the memory of this outcome directly affects how Ladybug treats Cat Noir after that.
07:24 We get to see Cat Blanc again in representation,
07:28 where his biggest fear lines up with the bad timeline, and it's utterly heartbreaking.
07:33 But somehow we don't think this was his last appearance.
07:36 "No, no, no, no, no, no, no! I couldn't have done that!"
07:41 Number 3. Ladybug Loses.
07:44 After becoming Guardian, which was also a huge moment in the series,
07:48 Marinette had more than ever on her plate.
07:50 The season 4 finale gave us so much.
07:53 Felix's cleverness and the suggestion of bigger motives at play was excellently done.
07:58 "Fetch!"
07:59 Plus, there are few moments in 'The Love Square' that make our hearts squeeze more
08:10 than watching Adrien comfort a crumbling Ladybug,
08:14 or their tender moment on the rooftop together.
08:16 "We're gonna get them back one by one, until the very last,
08:20 and we'll make sure this never happens again."
08:24 "You and me?"
08:26 Making her lose was probably the biggest way the creators redeemed a protagonist,
08:30 who many were beginning to grow frustrated with at the time.
08:34 Cat finally got his apology,
08:36 and their relationship as a team grew stronger than ever from that point on.
08:41 "I really made a mess of everything."
08:43 "My lady."
08:46 "No."
08:46 Number 2.
08:54 Monarch's Wish and Defeat
08:56 "Stop Monarch at all costs. That's what she would have wanted.

09:07 If we thought the season 4 finale was intense,
09:09 we were nowhere near prepared for that of season 5.
09:13 Marinette wearing the miraculouses of both the Ladybug and the Black Cat
09:17 is somehow the most tame part.
09:19 "Found you! Marinette Dupain-Chang?"
09:24 "No! Tiki, flag, unify!"
09:26 Monarch and Ladybug come to know each other's identity,
09:29 and we get to see Gabriel's deep grief over losing his wife.
09:33 "I just can't live without her. I love her so much.
09:38 When she left me, the world shut down around me."
09:41 Mind you, this comes only after Ladybug gives him the verbal
09:45 and physical smackdown of the century.
09:48 She also gives him the opportunity for redemption,
09:51 though that's swiftly disregarded.
09:53 Honestly, it was worth the stress just to see the Kwamis in their true forms.
09:58 "I am Gibby, the Kwami of reality."
10:08 Completely epic.
10:10 We wish Cat Noir had been part of it all,
10:12 but we have a feeling this big moment will be saved for season 6.
10:15 Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
10:20 Marinette is almost akumatized, only to ruin a heartfelt Mary Cat moment.
10:25 "Marinette, resist! You have to resist!"
10:30 Tiki and Plagg find out.
10:33 Knowing who the other holder is creates tension, and comes in handy later on.
