00:13 Well that worries me as well. I think it's very important for people to see a police presence in areas
00:22 and also to get quick response from the police if possible.
00:27 The cuts now in the police service are unbelievable.
00:32 The cuts since 2008, I think 8,000 police have been cut.
00:37 I think it's absolutely unbelievable.
00:39 And now if you've got a worry or a dilemma about and you want to get in touch with the police,
00:44 I mean we stay out on the other side of Edinburgh and our police station is being closed.
00:49 You go down to try and get some sort of help and they put you on the phone to phone somebody.
00:54 It's just beyond belief now the cuts in the police service.
00:57 People in this country don't want that.
01:00 How we find the money, purely from taxation, I don't know.
01:04 But I do think that the police cuts are just ridiculous.
01:08 I didn't know they were going to close Portobello. I think that's really disappointing.
01:13 I've had some dealings. I've lived in Joppa for many years.
01:17 I've had some dealings with local police officers and they've been so helpful.
01:21 And they do have a good knowledge of the area and they've been very quick to respond if I've had any problems.
01:28 So I'm sorry to see that connection being eroded and I would have liked Portobello to remain open.
