00:03 A lot's changed in my life, obviously.
00:04 It's been a very fun road to get to this point.
00:09 There's power.
00:10 There's a real engine.
00:11 It's more elaborated.
00:12 And you can see it.
00:13 We've made some drastic changes.
00:17 There's still lots to learn, but the step isn't that high.
00:22 Dakar 2024 sees two T3 stars stepping up to the T1s
00:26 and both driving Toyotas.
00:28 Belgian Guillaume Dumevius and American hotshot Seth Quintero.
00:34 Obviously, this year was a really good year for us.
00:36 We ended up winning the T3 championships
00:37 and had a few wins throughout the year
00:39 and a lot of stage wins.
00:41 The basic strategy was to carry on driving in T3 for a year,
00:45 try to win the 2024 Dakar in T3.
00:50 When NASA announced that he was stopping with Toyota,
00:53 I was told that there was a clear objective
00:55 to bring in young drivers.
00:56 I thought there's something to do.
00:58 I have to make the move now.
00:59 Fortunate enough, we got the phone call
01:03 that we had the opportunity to race T1+ with Toyota,
01:05 and we couldn't turn that down.
01:06 And it's always been the goal.
01:07 It's always been the dream, and especially
01:09 to join the Toyota team.
01:10 So this is my car.
01:15 This is my new Toyota Hilux T1+ and formerly driven
01:20 by my good friend, Nasser.
01:22 Driven by is something of an understatement.
01:24 Nasser Al Attia won three Dakars in the Toyota,
01:26 including consecutive titles in '22 and '23.
01:30 Don't go fast.
01:33 Need to respect.
01:33 I have to--
01:35 I have to--
01:35 After five years, you can go fast.
01:38 OK.
01:38 You need to learn now.
01:39 OK.
01:40 We're the youngest team in the class
01:46 and the youngest team really in the bidwack almost.
01:48 So we're going to do our best to try and uphold
01:52 our own standards.
01:52 But it's a different feeling being so young
01:56 and being around these guys.
01:57 It's faster.
02:01 It's heavier.
02:01 So everything gets to us quickly.
02:03 And when we have to brake, it takes more time.
02:06 Those are the two major things where there's
02:08 a big difference with T3.
02:09 I believe that we're once again in a learning process.
02:17 We showed that we were able to win in T3.
02:20 We were fighting for the win in every race.
02:24 Expectations are high.
02:26 Even though it is my first year in T1+,
02:28 it's going to be quite the adventure.
02:30 I mean, I don't think anyone expects anything less of a win.
02:33 We enter the queen category, so the fight will be intense.
02:39 The level is super high.
02:40 We're ready.
02:41 We're not here for a straw.
02:43 We're here for a good result, a top 10,
02:45 and gain experience in T1.
02:46 I can't say I want to go out there and get a top 10
02:48 or a top 5.
02:49 I'm a racer, so I'm going to go out there
02:51 and try to get first place.
02:52 [MUSIC PLAYING]
02:54 I can't say I want to go out there and get a top 10
02:56 or a top 5.
02:57 I'm a racer, so I'm going to go out there
02:58 and try to get first place.
