00:20 Good afternoon, Andrew Milawan and John here with Mount Gambier's January store sale report
00:26 which is mainly made up of all last year's weaners' cattle.
00:31 A very good yarding of 2,600 cattle that sold to a full field of local buyers.
00:36 It was the local Mount Gambier South East and West Victorian reed stockers
00:40 that operated here with only one Northern Victorian buyer.
00:44 Started off with a few older grown steers, 550 to 600 kilos.
00:48 They all made sort of 260 to 265 cents.
00:52 Then we got onto a very good run of Angus heavy weaners from 380 to 400 odd kilos.
00:58 And they generally made from 310 to about 325 or 26 cents.
01:03 Then as we got lighter, up the cents a kilo rate came
01:08 and as the dollars ahead came back more people wanted to operate.
01:13 A good run of coloured steers here, some noted draughts,
01:17 Patanga out of Avenue Range and they're very good short-arm steers up to $1,100 odd.
01:23 Then we got onto a very good run of Angus and Angus Hereford Cross heifer weaners
01:30 and they all made from 240 but generally to 260 to 270 and then breeders came in up to $3 a kilo.
01:37 So those cattle made from 720 to just under $1,000.
01:41 But all in all a pretty strong sale here and happy for both purchaser and vendor here at Mount Gambier.
