00:00 Jamie Quinlan is the Elders Livestock Manager here at YAY, a sale with 4,000
00:05 cattle has just wrapped up. Jamie, how did the sale go?
00:07 Yeah, well everyone's really pleased, Bryce. We've yarded 4,060-odd cattle today,
00:12 consisting of an absolutely magnificent run of heavy Angus feeder skis from 380 to
00:19 all the way up to 620 kilos. The 4 to 500 kilo skis of those have made $3.70,
00:26 $3.90 in places. All the feedlots active, TFI, Morton Co, Rangers Valley, JBS, all the
00:35 feedlots were here. AFA, all competing very strongly for those type of cattle. A
00:40 few of the bullet fatteners got into the real heavy ones, 600 kilo cattle. Then it
00:45 went on to a really good run of Spring Drop weaners and they've made
00:48 consistently the heavier ones of those have made $3.60 through to $4.00 for sort of
00:55 300 to 330 kilos. Probably came back a little bit once you got under 270 kilos,
01:02 came back to mid-3, 350, 360 with some really pretty lighter ones, 250 kilos,
01:09 still making $4.00. Then we went on to heifers, magnificent run of grown heifers,
01:13 360 to 420 kilos making $3.20 and $3.30. Best of the weaner heifers were $3.00 to
01:21 $3.30. Once the heifers got a bit lighter, they just tailed off a little bit.
01:26 They made $2.60 to $2.90 with a real pretty pen making $3.00 in places.
01:31 But everyone should be happy, buyers have bought some magnificent cattle and the vendors will be satisfied.
