00:00 The Iloilo Provincial Government is planning to file a complaint against those responsible for the widespread brownout in Panay Island.
00:07 The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines is a party that will prove that they are not to blame for the power outage.
00:15 For now, Tina Panganiban, Perez.
00:18 The calvary of the Western Visayas is over following the widespread brownout back then.
00:25 But the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines or NGCP says that even if the power supply is strong now, they cannot say if it will repeat or not.
00:36 The NGCP is a private company that is under the jurisdiction of the power grid of the country that brings power from power plants to various places.
00:47 And because the NGCP does not know the operations of the power plants and we have no power over them, we cannot say if it will happen again because we do not control the operation of the power plants.
01:00 But the Iloilo Provincial Government is studying the filing of a class action suit against those responsible.
01:07 We will find legal reports so that we can vindicate the damage that has been done to our people.
01:16 We will continue to apply pressure so that it will not be repeated.
01:25 President Bongbong Marcos said that the responsibility of the widespread brownout is with the NGCP.
01:33 But the NGCP is confident that they can show that they are not to blame for what happened.
01:39 All of this will go through due process and due process dictates that you hear all the sides involved and we are confident with our data.
01:48 We don't invent things. You will see that the incident had nothing to do with transmission operations.
01:53 A separate investigation will be conducted by the Senate and the House of Representatives on the issue, which they want to review the frankness of the NGCP.
02:00 In the resolution adopted by Ilocos Norte First District Representative Sandro Marcos, he recommended that the systems operation of the NGCP be given to other companies
02:11 and that the construction and operation of the transmission grid be targeted by the NGCP.
02:17 The NGCP's response is, the NGCP's frankness includes the entire transmission service, including engineering, operations and maintenance, and system operations.
02:30 We believe that the system operations are an important part of the transmission service.
02:36 Some lawmakers also recommended that the NGCP be fined.
02:41 If we will give a fair voice and look at the data that was collected from the system, it can be proven that the NGCP was not the reason for the economic losses that occurred.
02:53 The NGCP promised that they are ready to face the Congress' investigation.
02:58 Tomorrow, the Senate will hear the results while on Thursday, the House of Representatives will hear the results.
