The son of former Sabah STAR leader Philip Among has been charged with cheating at the Special Corruption Court in Kota Kinabalu on Wednesday (Jan 10).

00:39 The charge was framed under Section 419 of the Penal Code, which provides a jail term
00:43 of up to seven years or a fine of both upon conviction.
00:47 30-year-old Harris, who is the son of former Sabah Star leader Philip Among, also pleaded
00:53 not guilty to two alternative charges related to deceiving the same individual to RM8,000
00:59 by pretending to be the MACC deputy commissioner.
01:02 The court granted bail at RM40,000 with a RM5,000 deposit and one local surety.
01:08 Pending disposal of the case, the accused was also ordered to report to the MACC once
01:13 every two months and surrender his passport to the court.
01:17 The court instructed the accused not to tamper with witnesses and fixed February 14 for case
01:22 management.
