00:00 India is definitely not a Hindu country in the way the masses think of Hinduism these
00:14 days.
00:17 Not in that sense.
00:18 However, if somebody illuminated from within is prepared to see that real Hinduism is actually
00:30 just core spirituality, then probably you could call India as having Hindu foundations
00:37 and then you would be right.
00:40 But those who throw jibes at you and ask you, "Oh, there was this India Pakistan match,
00:46 did you support India or Pakistan or things like that?"
00:49 They are definitely not Hindus of the spiritual kind.
00:55 So they are not entitled to claim that India is a Hindu country of their kind.
01:05 Is it getting too complex?
01:09 Young people, are you getting it?
01:13 At the root of it all, there is ignorance regarding the basic nature of both Hinduism
01:22 and India.
01:26 This will be a little heavy, so you will have to understand this.
01:30 Hinduism is not what people seem to be practicing today, that too in an aggressive manner.
01:39 That's not Hinduism.
01:41 Actually over the last 10-20 years, a very rabid, very virulent version of Hinduism has
01:49 surfaced and that Hinduism claims that India belongs to itself.
02:00 It does not.
02:04 First of all, one has to understand what the Hindu religion is all about.
02:09 Hindu religion is not about sloganeering on the roads, targeting this group or that group,
02:16 throwing hate all around.
02:18 No, that's not Hinduism, not at all.
02:22 And all those people who do this, ask them, "Do you know anything about the central scriptures
02:30 of your religion?" and they will draw a blank.
02:37 Now what kind of Hindus are these, who know neither Ved nor Vedant?
02:45 Ask them about the Aasthik Indian darshans and they will stare at your face.
02:56 But very proudly, they declare themselves to be Hindus.
03:02 How exactly are you a Hindu?
03:07 Forget about Nyaya and Vaisheshik.
03:11 I ask you the fundamentals of the topmost Indian darshan Vedant and you will try to
03:23 change the topic.
03:24 You will say, "Let's talk about something else.
03:27 Let's talk about the Islamic threat to India."
03:31 I'm asking you, "Sir, you are speaking as a Hindu.
03:35 Please tell me something about the Brahma Sutras."
03:40 And you don't know that.
03:43 But you are very concerned about the Islamic threat.
03:49 And we can talk about the Islamic threat as a separate topic that probably does deserve
03:55 to be discussed.
03:58 But right now, because all your discourse begins with the claim that you are a Hindu,
04:07 let me first of all ascertain that you are indeed a Hindu.
04:10 How are you a Hindu?
04:17 How do you qualify to be a Hindu?
04:18 Just because you are born in a Hindu family, so you qualify to be a Hindu.
04:24 But you have no humility at all.
04:30 Not only do you not see that you are not a Hindu in the first place, you want to impose
04:38 your kind of ignorant version of Hinduism upon the entire country.
04:46 That's what your entire attempt is.
04:48 You are saying my Hinduism means the kind of culture I follow.
04:52 And anybody who subscribes to this culture is a Hindu.
04:57 How exactly?
04:58 What culture do you follow?
04:59 What are the roots of this culture?
05:01 Where does it come from?
05:02 Have you ever tried to understand, ever made any study?
05:06 No, you have never done that.
05:10 It's just that the tradition of the past 100 or 200 years has handed over a particular
05:14 culture to you and you think that culture is Hinduism.
05:17 No, not at all.
05:18 Thank you.
