The Cleveland Bronwns fell to the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs and turnovers played a big reason as to why they couldn't get the job done. Cleveland's magical season ends in Houston as they fall 45-14.

00:00 Well that was not what the Cleveland Browns had hoped for when they made a trip to Houston
00:14 here this weekend to open the playoffs.
00:17 Forty five to fourteen in a game the Browns led fourteen to ten.
00:23 Ouch.
00:24 Brendan Gulick and Anthony Meglin with you on Browns Digest.
00:27 We certainly enjoyed being with you all season and hope you've enjoyed our coverage.
00:32 I'm afraid we don't have too many positive things to say this afternoon because that
00:35 was about as disappointing as it could have been all the way around.
00:38 It wasn't a pathetic performance.
00:40 It wasn't a terrible effort.
00:43 As Kevin Stefanski and Joe Flacco and Miles Garrett all said postgame, they picked a bad
00:48 day to have a bad day and it was just not good enough all the way around.
00:53 Amplified by a couple of pick sixes that maybe made the score look a little bit like a one
00:57 wider margin.
00:58 It wasn't like the Browns were never in it in the second half but from basically the
01:03 middle of the third quarter on it just looked like it wasn't going to happen and then the
01:06 avalanche couldn't be stopped.
01:08 Anthony it was a pretty darn disappointing ending to a great season but nobody really
01:12 wants to talk about the good season at this point because this leaves a pretty sour taste
01:17 in your mouth.
01:18 Yeah right.
01:19 What a day to have a bad day man.
01:20 That was so disappointing and you know it just like you said it wasn't a bad performance.
01:26 They didn't come out flat.
01:27 None of that.
01:28 It just snowballed so fast like back to back pick sixes is not how you draw it up man.
01:34 That was that was tough and it's just a tough way to go out.
01:37 It's a disappointing way to go out honestly because like you said right now nobody wants
01:40 to talk about the good things and this year was full of good things and we'll get to them
01:44 in later dates but for tonight man that was just it was a disappointing effort from the
01:48 defense which was the most shocking part and you know the offense was trying to hang around
01:54 for as long as they could but as it as the chips fell man it was they just did not have
01:58 enough and as you can see 45 14 shows that they just did not have enough firepower today.
02:05 I mean look I think you know for folks that were thinking hey this was 36 22 a few weeks
02:11 ago you know feeling really good about the vibes and being in the playoffs and just drinking
02:16 the Kool-Aid we got this kind of thing you just sort of expected you'd roll in here and
02:21 then it would be a similar situation.
02:23 I do think the Browns had the best unit on paper and proven through 17 games that their
02:30 defense was the best unit offense defense special teams between Houston and Cleveland
02:35 but today wasn't even close to being good enough and I heard Peter King say this from
02:41 NBC with a few minutes left to go in the game this was sort of his unofficial stat but he
02:46 said that he counted at least five times where a Houston Texan caught a pass without a Cleveland
02:52 Brown within five yards of that receiver and I thought Houston did an unbelievable job
02:59 scheming up today what CJ Stroud could do well you could talk more about that you're
03:04 the quarterback between the two of us but I mean CJ looked like he was just in such
03:08 rhythm all game it didn't matter if he was in the pocket or on the move the defensive
03:13 players eyes were all over the place he threw a deep he threw it short CJ was unflappable
03:19 I'll tell you what like he's great and I don't want this to come across the wrong way but
03:22 he didn't have to do anything special today right I think the hat goes off to Bobby Sloak
03:28 their offensive coordinator like there was many times where the Houston Texans just totally
03:33 schemed up the Browns right like they're gonna come out play man-to-man coverage we're gonna
03:36 do a couple things the Browns secondary struggles tackling right that came out to bear you know
03:42 that bared fruit today you know there's a couple big plays that were results of poor
03:46 tackling and you know it was CJ Stroud just doing what he needed to do doing his job he
03:51 didn't have to be incredible I think the one incredible play he did have was finding Nico
03:55 Collins right up the seam in that first drive for their first touchdown or their first field
04:00 goal excuse me they didn't end up punching it in and that was when you're like okay Browns
04:03 could do something but he stood in the pocket took a hit from J okay and delivered a good
04:07 ball but other than that dudes were running wide open because they were schemed wide open
04:11 and they they had a great plan and my hat you know personally goes off to Bobby Sloak
04:16 I think that Houston Texans offense was well prepared going into this game and had a great
04:20 plan and executed to perfection yeah I tend to agree with you I think if you're objective
04:25 about the way the game was played and you know plan going in I didn't think the Browns
04:29 were unprepared I thought they handled some of the punch and counter punch you know they
04:34 got early in the game but Houston just didn't flinch and CJ Stroud certainly you know was
04:40 the leader in that regard let's talk Joe Flacco for a second final number
