00:03 But don't speak at the same time.
00:11 OK.
00:11 [LAUGHS]
00:14 My name is Pat Klassen.
00:15 I'm 21 years old, and I'm the pilot of our Porsche 911.
00:20 I'm Sebastian, 53 years old.
00:22 I'm her dad, and I'm her navigator in the car behind us.
00:25 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:30 Well, we decided only four months ago
00:32 that we're going to do Dakar.
00:34 It was very last minute, but we're having so much fun.
00:36 It's very cool.
00:38 Based in South Africa, Pooks normally rides motorbikes,
00:41 but a leg injury allowed her to discover
00:43 something new, something different,
00:45 with her dad, Sebastian.
00:49 I normally travel a lot with Pook for motocross,
00:52 also in Europe.
00:53 And I said, well, if you can't ride your motorbike,
00:55 you can maybe--
00:56 you can strap-- we can strap you in a car.
01:01 Yeah, to have my first rally be Dakar is quite a big deal.
01:05 She only drove this car at the first day,
01:07 at the first stage at this Dakar.
01:09 So it was quite a challenge.
01:13 She's done go-karting and lots of motocross,
01:15 and she's got a super flow.
01:18 She drives with the brain, and that is pretty solid for Dakar.
01:22 [MUSIC PLAYING]
01:26 His best quality, not his patience.
01:29 He's super impatient.
01:32 So we do fight.
01:33 But no, he does chill out sometimes and let me drive,
01:36 so it's good.
01:37 Basically, I have to shut up.
01:40 I can't say anything if I--
01:42 I can't say what I feel like saying.
01:44 I can't do that.
01:45 I tend to get involved in the driving part.
01:49 If I say, like, you have to go a bit faster here,
01:53 then she gets angry, which is good,
01:55 because it's all up to her.
01:56 I just have to say the direction and the notes.
01:59 [MUSIC PLAYING]
02:02 The last two days, yesterday we got stuck.
02:10 And then--
02:10 The driver's fault.
02:11 No.
02:12 There was, like, six cars stuck around,
02:14 and everyone was pointing me to go the other way.
02:17 So I was turning June.
02:18 And it was, to most people, like, problem day,
02:22 problematic day, but for us, it was our favorite day.
02:24 [MUSIC PLAYING]
02:27 I thought I'd be exhausted and finished every day.
02:33 I have a lot of energy, because the whole vibe and the bivouac
02:37 is cooler than I ever thought it would be.
02:40 Yeah, it's cooler than I expected.
02:42 I found it way cooler.
02:43 You feel alive every day.
02:45 So we are close.
02:48 But yeah, this makes it very close.
02:50 I think it will be the same as before.
02:52 I mean, we've always been close, and he's always
02:55 done all my sports with me.
02:57 This is such a cool memory just between the two of us.
03:01 And I think that's very cool that we share that.
