The Mississippi State Bulldogs can provide some scare for many teams in upcoming tournament play after putting up great performances in their previous outings.

00:00 While it's only January, conference play is well underway and Mississippi State looks to be a difficult out for anybody in the SEC tournament as well as in March.
00:08 Now the conference record is nothing to boast about, only being 1-2, but their one victory comes against #6 ranked Tennessee.
00:14 Those two losses were winnable losses against South Carolina had they not gotten into early foul trouble and would have missed free throw opportunities against Alabama.
00:22 But it was difficult for both sides. Last season, Toto Smith scored a career high 28 against Florida in an overtime victory to advance to eventually lose to Alabama in the next round and they eventually became the SEC champs for basketball.
00:37 The same can be said in the NCAA tournament. They were one of the last four in, losing the pit on the last second shot and then a last missed corner three by Shaq Moore, ending all their March Madness dreams.
00:49 This year is different. They have the scoring capability of keeping up with those teams as well as that instilled defense that Chris Johns has been preaching over the last year and has continued during this year.
01:01 And because of that, anyone that faces the Bulldogs will be on upset alert.
