00:00 After making their first college football playoff appearance and amid Nick Saban retiring,
00:06 the Texas Longhorns needed to move fast when it came to making their head coach happy.
00:11 On Saturday, the program announced they officially agreed on a four-year contract extension for
00:16 Coach Sarkeesian.
00:17 Prior to the extension, Sark's salary rank came in at number 30 in the country, making
00:22 $5.6 million.
00:25 And while his new salary number has not been made public, one can assume Sark is at the
00:29 top of the list when it comes to money.
00:32 While they didn't win it all, the 12-2 record was their best in over a decade and since
00:37 Mack Brown was donning the burnt orange and Colt McCoy was slinging it around.
00:42 Along with the playoff appearance, Sark assembled back-to-back top three recruiting classes,
00:48 revamped what seemed to be a negative culture, and led the Horns to a Big 12 title.
00:55 Keeping Sark around is not only massive for the present, but it is even more important
01:00 as the Longhorns will now begin navigating the treacherous waters that is the SEC.
