00:00 Good morning from the Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:04 This is our update for the upcoming 24 hours.
00:09 The shear line is still weakening, or the hot and cold wind is still blowing.
00:15 So the rain will decrease in a large part of our country, especially here in the Mindanao area.
00:23 At the same time, the cold wind is also affecting the north-east monsoon.
00:36 For the next 24 hours, the whole country will still experience a sunny weather.
00:42 We still have a chance of light rains, or the sudden rain that brings the cold wind to a large part of the northern zone.
00:50 And a chance of localized thunderstorms, or sudden and quick rains in Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
00:59 At the same time, we are not monitoring any low-pressure areas or weather conditions
01:03 that could cause a storm in the next few days that could affect our country.
01:10 And for the weather conditions here in the Luzon,
01:14 because of the cold, we will still experience a sunny weather in the whole Luzon.
01:21 We still have a chance of isolated light rains in the northern Luzon,
01:24 in the regions of Ilocos Region, Cordillera, and in the Cagayan Valley.
01:30 We also have a chance of localized thunderstorms,
01:33 which are sudden and quick rains, usually from the afternoon to the evening in Metro Manila and the rest of the Luzon.
01:42 Because of the cold, we still have a chance of a minimum temperature drop that we will usually experience in the early morning.
01:50 In the regions of Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,
01:55 we still have a chance of a bright and sunny weather for the next 24 hours.
02:00 Generally, for fair weather conditions, we expect a high temperature,
02:05 a hot and sunny weather that we will experience.
02:09 But if it's the afternoon, we expect a chance of localized thunderstorms,
02:14 which are sudden and quick rains.
02:17 The temperature forecast for Iloilo today is possible to drop from 26 to 31 degrees Celsius.
02:24 25 to 30 degrees Celsius here in Cebu, and 24 to 30 degrees Celsius in Tacloban.
02:30 The temperature forecast for Puerto Princesa today is from 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.
02:36 24 to 32 degrees Celsius here in Calayan Islands, and 25 to 29 degrees Celsius in Cagayan de Oro.
02:45 The temperature forecast for Davao today is possible to drop from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius.
02:51 And 25 to 33 degrees Celsius here in Zambuanga area.
02:57 And because we are expecting a low shear line,
03:01 we still have a chance of thunderstorms, especially here in the eastern section of Mindanao,
03:07 especially in the Davao region where we have seen some rains.
03:12 And we have also observed some rains the other day.
03:15 The soil in the mentioned area is still possibly saturated.
03:18 So if we have some rains that are followed by thunderstorms,
03:21 it's still possible for the soil to suddenly rain and form.
03:24 So it's better to stay away from thunderstorm advisories that are being issued by our regional centers.
03:33 And in terms of our sea,
03:35 we currently don't have a high gale warning in any of our islands.
03:40 That's why our fishermen and small boats can't sail.
03:46 It's still different to be careful with our fishermen.
03:50 Because we still have high gales in most of our country.
03:57 And for our 3-day extended weather outlook in our neighboring countries,
04:04 in the next 3 days, in most of the islands, the weather will continue to be clear.
04:10 Generally, fair weather conditions for the next 3 days,
04:13 there are still chances of thunderstorms, usually in the afternoon and evening,
04:17 especially in areas of Central and Southern Luzon.
04:22 In Metro Manila, on January 23, Tuesday,
04:26 we are expecting a strong storm or a strong wind.
04:31 So it's possible for the Northeast Monsoon to affect the Metro Manila area again.
04:35 This is due to the strong winds that brought down our thunderstorm activity.
04:40 So let's just hope for the chance of light rains or storms brought by the strong winds.
04:45 Meanwhile, we expect the continued effect of the strong winds in a large part of Baguio City.
04:51 So generally, in fair weather conditions, there are still chances of strong winds.
04:57 And in the part of Legazpi City, for the next 3 days,
05:00 we are still expecting hot and humid weather.
05:04 And we are still prepared for the chances of hot and humid weather
05:07 with a high chance of rain and lightning and localised thunderstorms.
05:10 In the part of Visayas, we expect the return of the Easter Easterly
05:15 or the hot winds from the Pacific Ocean for the next 3 days.
05:20 So we expect to experience hot and humid weather in the areas of Visayas.
05:27 From the afternoon to the evening, we expect high chances of thunderstorms,
05:32 especially in the eastern section of Visayas.
05:34 So in the areas of Eastern Visayas, in the city of Tacloban City,
05:38 we expect high chances of afternoon thunderstorms.
05:43 And in the part of Mindanao, we still expect generally fair weather conditions for the next 3 days
05:50 since we are still not expecting low pressure areas during the time
05:53 and the lightness will continue in the next 3 days.
05:58 We are still prepared and we will still bring rain and thunderstorms,
06:03 usually in the afternoon and evening.
06:05 And I repeat, especially in the area of Metro Davao,
06:08 since we have experienced rain in the past few days,
06:12 there were floods, it is still possible that the chances of flooding and landslides will remain high,
06:19 especially if we have thunderstorm activity,
06:22 which are sudden and sudden rains.
