00:00Good morning from the Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center. This is our update for the next 24 hours.
00:10Last night at 10pm, the Philippine Area of Responsibility entered the low-pressure area that we are monitoring.
00:20Our latest location as of 3am today is 695 kilometers away from Silangan, Butuan City in Agusan, Del Norte.
00:32At the moment, the southwest monsoon winds are still blowing in the northern part of Southern Luzon and Visayas.
00:41Due to the combined effect of the low-pressure area and low winds, we expect to experience a high chance of rain in some parts of our country.
00:51We expect to see heavy rains and thunderstorms throughout Mindanao, the central and eastern sections of Visayas, and the area of Palawan.
01:01It is more likely that we will see heavy rains and thunderstorms in Metro Manila and other parts of our country.
01:15As for the weather conditions in Luzon, a large part of Luzon will experience generally fair weather conditions.
01:24The weather will be hot and humid because it will not reach the southern part of Mindanao and Luzon today.
01:31By the afternoon of this evening, we will have a chance of sudden and quick rainfall due to localized thunderstorms.
01:39The maximum temperature forecast for today is 32 degrees Celsius, 34 degrees in the area of Tagagaraw, and 23 degrees Celsius in Baguio City.
01:51The maximum temperature forecast for today in Metro Manila is 33 degrees Celsius, 32 degrees in the area of Legazpi, and 31 degrees Celsius in Tagaytay.
02:03In the areas of Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao, we expect to see heavy rains and thunderstorms in the areas of Palawan and Western Mindanao,
02:17particularly in the areas of Zamboanga Peninsula and the islands of Basilan, Sulu, and Tuwetawi.
02:23Due to the effect of the low-pressure area in the southern part of Mindanao, particularly in Central and Eastern Mindanao,
02:32in the Central and Eastern sections of Visayas, in the Central Visayas, and in the provinces of Leyte, Southern Leyte, and Eastern Samar,
02:41we expect to see a high chance of heavy rains, thunderstorms, and thunderstorms today due to the low-pressure area.
02:49It is more likely that it will be cloudy skies in the areas of Western Visayas and Negros Islands today,
02:57but by afternoon and evening, we will experience isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms.
03:03In the early hours of the day, we will see early morning thunderstorms in a large part of Mindanao and the Central and Eastern sections of Visayas.
03:12In these areas, especially in the Central and Eastern sections, due to the affected areas,
03:19the thick clouds and the high potential of rain due to the low-pressure area,
03:26we should continue to be prepared and alert to the chances of flooding and landslides if the rain we will experience continues.
03:35As for the sea level, there are still no high-level gale warnings.
03:40What else can we expect? We expect light to moderate waves in a large part of our country.
03:46However, our fellow fishermen should still be careful because if we have an offshore thunderstorm activity,
03:53we expect strong gusts of wind due to which the waves will rise.
04:00We expect that the low-pressure area that we are monitoring now has a high chance of a storm or tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
04:11In the event of a storm, we will give it a local name, Enteng.
04:17We expect that starting tomorrow, Sunday to Monday next week,
04:21due to the effects of this bad weather and the strong winds of the southwest monsoon,
04:29and the possible impact of this weather disturbance,
04:32we expect high chances of rain in the areas of Visayas and Mindanao.
04:38If the rain continues in a large part of Visayas and Mindanao,
04:42we will also experience rain in the areas of Mimaropa and Bicol Region.
04:46By Tuesday and Wednesday next week,
04:50the rain that we will experience will rise northward.
04:54The rain in the areas of Mindanao and Visayas will gradually decrease.
04:59We will experience heavy rain in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa.
05:07Due to the low-pressure area, there is a possibility of a storm.
05:09It will also cause rain in the Bicol Region.
05:13Part of the rain will remain due to the low pressure in the western Visayas.
05:18We will continue to keep up with the updates issued by Pag-asa about this bad weather.
05:28The sunny day here in Manila will be as hot as 544 degrees in the morning,
05:34and it will be low later in the afternoon at 609 degrees.
