Storm Isha has been named by the Met Office, with strong winds for all from Sunday and heavy rain for some.
Cold Arctic air that has been dominating the UK in recent days is subsiding, replaced by an Atlantic influence which will bring a return to milder conditions, but also bring wet and windy weather across the UK on Sunday.

00:00 Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04 Storm Isha continues to bring some very strong winds and heavy rain across the UK through
00:09 Sunday night and into Monday morning. It tracks its way north and eastwards across northern
00:13 parts of Scotland overnight Sunday and into Monday, but a ridge of high pressure then
00:17 starts to develop once it's cleared away through Monday night and into Tuesday. That doesn't
00:22 last long though, as the next system is waiting in the wings to bring further wet and windy
00:26 weather through the day on Tuesday.
00:29 Back to Storm Isha, an amber weather warning is in force across the UK, with some gusts
00:34 widely of 50-60mph across the UK, but perhaps as high as 90 across northern parts of Scotland
00:40 through the early hours of Monday morning. It will still be a very windy start to the
00:44 day on Monday as well, so keep an eye on any warning updates on our website.
00:49 Back to Sunday evening's weather, and plenty of rain around. That rain continues to push
00:53 its way north and eastwards through Sunday night and into Monday morning, with some clear
00:57 spells developing, but it's through those early hours that the winds really start to
01:01 pick up, particularly across parts of Scotland into the early hours of Monday morning. Under
01:06 any clear skies, temperatures dropping out a little compared to what we've seen over
01:09 recent nights, generally around the mid to high single figures, perhaps around 8 or 9
01:14 across the south east under that cloud and rain.
01:17 So it'll be a very windy start to the new working week on Monday. Some clear spells
01:21 and some sunshine around, but blustery showers push their way in from the west, particularly
01:26 heavy across Northern Ireland into Northern England and parts of Scotland as well, where
01:30 we could even see some snow across the high ground.
01:33 The best of the sunshine on Monday, definitely across the south and the east, and temperatures
01:36 here generally around 10 or 11 degrees, so above average for the time of year. But for
01:41 all of us, with a strong northwesterly breeze, that will definitely take the edge off those
01:45 temperatures.
01:47 Through Monday evening, showers continue to push in from the northwest, so particularly
01:51 heavy across Northern Ireland and western Scotland, but further south they will gradually
01:55 start to ease as we see that very brief ridge developing. So some clear spells overnight,
01:59 and particularly for northern parts of England, a drier and brighter start to Tuesday morning.
02:05 It will be turning milder though under that cloud across the very far south. We could
02:08 see temperatures here around 7 or 8 degrees by the early morning. But under the clear
02:12 spells, temperatures dropping out into the low single figures, maybe even some frost
02:15 across parts of Scotland.
02:17 So a brighter start across northern parts of England on Tuesday, but that really doesn't
02:21 last long. This next system pushing in from the west through the day on Tuesday, bringing
02:26 some very heavy rain to Northern Ireland, western parts of Scotland, into northern England
02:30 and Wales as well. And after the heavy rain we've seen from Storm Isha, this could exacerbate
02:35 some of those flooding impacts. As well as heavy rain, there will also be some strong
02:40 winds, particularly through Tuesday afternoon and into Wednesday, and some mild temperatures
02:44 too, highs of around 13 or 14 degrees, so definitely above average for the time of year.
02:51 So strong winds likely to continue through Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning,
02:54 with weather warnings already in force for that. But you can keep up to date with that
02:57 via our social media channels, and don't forget to subscribe to YouTube to never miss a weather
03:01 update. Bye bye.
