00:00 Hello, here are the top headlines today making the news across our newsrooms in the North West.
00:07 Widespread warnings are in place across the UK as Storm Esher brought rain and gusts of winds of up to 90 mph.
00:16 Electricity companies have reported cuts to thousands of homes across the country, including 5,000 in the North West of England.
00:25 Elsewhere, a new restaurant under the name of celebrity chef Marco Pierre White is set to open in Blackpool in the spring.
00:34 The eatery will go under the banner Marco's New York Italian and will open within the new 4 Star Holiday Inn on Talbot Road.
00:42 It means Blackpool will join just six other locations across the whole of the UK to be getting a restaurant in the chef's New York Italian range, most of them in hotels.
