00:00 The Department of Foreign Affairs held a diplomatic protest against China
00:04 following the latest incidents of harassment in the West Philippine Sea.
00:08 This includes the incident in Bajo Limasinlok on January 12
00:12 when the China Coast Guard returned the last fish and seashells of the Filipino fishermen.
00:17 This happened just five days before the DFA and the Chinese Foreign Ministry
00:22 discussed the issue in the West Philippine Sea.
00:25 According to the DFA, four fish were taken to China this January.
00:31 This Tuesday, Defense Secretary Gilbert Chidoro condemned the incidents.
00:35 He said that the Philippines should not be blamed for this.

00:42 We are not the ones encroaching on the exclusive economic zone of another country.
00:50 The encroacher has a vast area of sea.
00:55 And if they ask us to meet them halfway when they have already
01:01 eaten three-fourths of the way into our exclusive economic zone,
01:06 where is the fairness in that?
01:07 Who's fooling who?
01:10 And if there are spillover effects, we are not to blame.

01:17 The Chinese Embassy is trying to get a statement in support of the diplomatic protests
