Cal coach Mark Madsen talks about playing his alma mater for the first time.

00:00 >> I think, first of all, it's been a long time since I played.
00:05 So that's almost like a distant memory.
00:08 And to be playing it at our place first against Stanford,
00:12 of course, I'm treating this like every conference opponent.
00:15 But obviously, once the game day hits, I'm sure there's gonna be a little bit of
00:19 emotion because it's my alma mater.
00:21 Had some great memories there, some great friendships and relationships, and
00:26 we had success.
00:28 It's personal in a lot of ways.
00:31 My first unofficial visit was to Cal, and Jared Haas was on the team.
00:35 As I watched Jared Haas practice, Jason Kidd was on the team,
00:39 I think Grigsby was on the team.
00:41 And now Jared's coaching Stanford, I'm coaching Cal.
00:44 And so things have a way of coming full circle.
00:46 Stanford's having a great season.
00:49 They are one of the top three point shooting teams in the country, but
00:53 they're definitely not a one trick pony.
00:56 They can attack you in the post, they can go off the dribble, and
00:59 they do a lot of different things.
01:01 They'll change things up offensively and defensively.
