00:03 The wellness industry is booming.
00:06 So how do you get in on the action?
00:08 Let's go inside where some of the best in the business
00:10 will tell you how.
00:11 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:20 John, tell us about some of the clients you have here.
00:22 This event is big for us.
00:24 It's not something that we've done before.
00:26 We curate our clients, our brands
00:28 that we work with, our partners, really intentionally.
00:31 And to see all these brands and all this media
00:33 here responding to it is powerful
00:36 because they're all brands that have a depth of story.
00:38 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:46 How did you build Saluna?
00:49 So I built it really organically.
00:51 And I started a free blog.
00:53 And this blog spread throughout New York City.
00:57 Seven books later, three of them being
00:58 New York Times bestsellers.
01:00 Electro-muscle stimulation, what is that?
01:02 We used small signals that mimic the brain signals
01:06 to retrain muscles after they're injured
01:08 or while they're injured as a recovery tool.
01:10 And your physician basically gives you that.
01:12 The question for us is, why are you waiting until you
01:15 get injured to use this?
01:16 So what we have done is we've created a holistic experience
01:20 using this technology to actually get in shape.
01:23 Averon is in the connected fitness space.
01:25 What makes us a lot different than our competitors
01:28 is that we use gaming psychology and game design
01:30 to make your workouts fun.
01:32 What's really worked for us is finding a community
01:35 that you can rally with people that push you.
01:38 [MUSIC PLAYING]
01:44 You've been doing it.
01:45 You've been successful.
01:46 What's a piece of advice you have
01:49 for entrepreneurs who want to grow in this industry?
01:51 Well, I think the first thing is to not try to build a brand.
01:54 Try to build a product that really helps
01:56 people in a meaningful way.
01:57 When we said we spent the first eight years building
01:59 this product, it was, can we create a product that will
02:02 actually change things for people?
02:04 This one is Chroma Wellness.
02:06 Lisa and Lexi, what's the secret to working well with family?
02:10 I would say my mother is my best friend.
02:13 So it's so fun to be able to do this together every day.
02:17 I feel so grateful that I get to learn from such an insane
02:21 powerhouse.
02:22 Proud mom?
02:24 Such a proud mom.
02:25 [MUSIC PLAYING]
02:34 What's something that anyone who wants
02:36 to build a brand in this space should be thinking about?
02:39 Be obsessed with understanding your customers
02:41 and give them a reason to stay beyond the product.
02:44 Give them a reason to love the brand,
02:46 whether it be the community, the education, the content,
02:49 the way they're speaking to you, or sustainability,
02:51 whatever that moral purpose is.
02:53 Incredible products, and go beyond and think
02:55 about other reasons to stay with a brand
02:57 by knowing who your customers are.
02:59 If you want to build a flash in the pan,
03:00 you can do that with sexy branding and great influencers.
03:04 But if you want to build something meaningful
03:05 and really create change and change
03:07 the trajectory of health and wellness,
03:09 you need to take a scientific approach.
03:11 You need to work with the best and pull those people in.
03:13 [MUSIC PLAYING]
03:21 These are brands that are expansive, that are helpful,
03:24 that are culturally relevant.
03:26 So to see all of them here is a very powerful thing for me.
03:30 So after hearing all that, do you
03:32 feel better about building a brand in the wellness industry?
03:35 Now go build something and help others feel better too.
