Rail strikes: Dates to be aware of in February

Train drivers belonging to the Aslef Union are set to strike once again between Tuesday 30th January and Monday 5th February. This means that thousands of trains are likely to be cancelled on each day.

00:28 A separate five-day strike called by Aslef, aimed specifically at LNER, was set to take place but has since been called off.
00:35 Speaking on the called-off strike, a train operator said, "We welcome news that the threat of extended disruption to our services has been lifted."
00:43 In the latest Aslef Journal, General Secretary Mick Whelan told members,
00:48 "We have always said that we are prepared to come to the table, but the government and TOCs need to understand that this dispute won't be resolved
00:55 by trying to bully our members into accepting worse terms and conditions of employment."
