00:00 Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we're taking a look at the 10 Horror Games We're Excited
00:14 to Play in 2024.
00:23 Before we begin we publish new videos all week long, so be sure to subscribe to Mojo
00:27 Plays and ring the bell to be notified about our latest videos.
00:32 Silent Hill 2
00:41 At the time of this video, Silent Hill 2 does not yet have a release date, or even a release
00:47 window.
00:48 However, there are some signs that the remake of the 2001 PS2 classic is launching imminently.
00:55 For starters, Sony has begun marketing its slate of 2024 games, Silent Hill 2 being a
01:01 timed exclusive for PS5 alongside Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater.
01:06 But the big sign lies within developer Bloober Team's plans.
01:18 Insider reports reveal a partnership between the studio and Skybound Entertainment, notably
01:23 known as the owners of the Walking Dead IP.
01:26 That said, it is safe to assume that development is winding down on Silent Hill 2 while marketing
01:32 is ramping up.
01:33 Our guess is the game will probably launch just before Halloween, say August or September.
01:46 The Casting of Frank Stone
01:58 Since 2016, Dead by Daylight has only ever been known as a multiplayer franchise.
02:03 But as the lore has grown over the years, Behavior Interactive is starting to see the
02:07 potential in spin-offs and merchandise to generate more fans.
02:11 The Casting of Frank Stone will be the first single-player title set within Dead by Daylight's
02:15 story.
02:16 No, I am not counting that awful dating sim hooked on you.
02:20 We do not talk about that, we forget that ever happened.
02:32 But back to Frank Stone, it is being developed by Supermassive Games, the studio behind Until
02:37 Dawn and the Dark Pictures Anthology.
02:40 With an original story for a brand new killer that will likely get implemented into Dead
02:44 by Daylight soon, we are eager to see what these two horror game giants bring to the
02:49 table when it launches later this year.
03:00 Still Wakes the Deep
03:10 For those unaware, the main reason why folks are excited for Still Wakes the Deep is because
03:14 of the studio behind it, The Chinese Room.
03:17 The England-based studio is largely known for 2012's Dear Esther and 2015's Everybody's
03:23 Gone to the Rapture.
03:25 This new project of theirs looks to go back to when the studio was making the infamously
03:29 known "Walking Simulator" type games.
03:38 The Chinese Room was telling fascinating stories with incredible set pieces and voice acting.
03:44 That is what made Esther and Rapture so captivating, and we're sure Still Wakes the Deep will
03:48 be just as great when it launches on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series XS sometime this year.
04:02 Spirit Hunter Death Mark II
04:13 In case you have never heard of this gem, or played this sequel already since it launched
04:17 in Japan in 2022, the first Spirit Hunter game released way back in 2019 and was a visual
04:23 novel with some point-and-click adventure elements.
04:26 So what makes the sequel so special?
04:36 Well developer EXPERIENCE, and that's EXPERIENCE in all caps, is expanding upon the gameplay
04:41 in regards to exploration and its partner mechanics, the latter which can determine
04:46 your odds of success under certain scenarios.
04:49 With its unique art style and haunting story, we're already playing the first game now
04:53 in preparation for the sequel.
04:55 Spirit Hunter Death Mark II launches for PC on Steam on February 15, 2024.
05:08 Artificial
05:17 We simply don't get enough physics-based puzzle games as much as we used to.
05:22 Developed by a sole developer named Andrei Angelovich, Artificial aims to return to that
05:27 with a look and feel similar to the Portal franchise, albeit with much darker tones.
05:41 Explore the dismal Asteroid 2031-XT as its inhabitants become overrun by an extraterrestrial
05:48 hive mind known as the Corruption.
05:51 Use objects to sneak around rogue lifeforms as you try to figure out what in the hell
05:55 happened and how to save what few survivors remain, if any at all.
06:00 Artificial will launch on Steam sometime in February 2024.
06:12 Clock Tower
06:25 The original Clock Tower released in 1995 never made its way to any other region outside
06:31 of Japan.
06:32 Western audiences would see a PS1 iteration with 3D character models, but it wasn't
06:37 close to the original vision.
06:46 WayForward Technologies is developing this remaster of the original game, and not only
06:51 will the visuals be enhanced with the Carbon Engine, courtesy of Limited Run Games, WayForward
06:56 will also be implementing new cutscenes, music, and finer details in the textures and animation.
07:02 Perhaps this could lead Clock Tower fans to a brighter future?
07:06 Who knows, maybe its success could lead to a brand new game.
07:14 Little Nightmares 3
07:25 Supermassive Games is keeping themselves busy as this will be their second game releasing
07:29 in 2024.
07:30 Yes, Little Nightmares is a Bandai Namco Entertainment IP, and the original developers, Tarsier Studios,
07:37 were pulled under the banner of Embracer Group.
07:50 Regardless of the change of hands, Little Nightmares 3 has a ton of potential given
07:54 Supermassive's past successes.
07:57 And considering they handled ports of the second game, they may just deliver something
08:01 as good as the other titles.
08:02 Plus, there's multiplayer, so at least we can be petrified in pairs.
08:15 Sniper Killer
08:27 Over the years, we have seen an influx of indie horror games aiming to replicate the
08:31 look and feel of classic PS1 horror titles.
08:35 Some are better than others, but Sniper Killer is definitely one to keep on your radar.
08:41 Smile for the camera.
08:47 You will alternate between both the killer and the detective trying to stop him.
08:52 Will the killer get away, or will the detective finally take him down?
08:56 Both journey down a path of insanity and blood, and you will be able to play this for yourself
09:01 when it launches on PC later this year.
09:04 I played the demo for this.
09:06 This is a personal, anticipated pick for me.
09:10 You need to go check this out.
09:11 Please, do yourselves the favor.
09:20 By Sweet Carol
09:30 Of all the indie horror games, this one has grabbed our attention in a way that's almost
09:34 hard to explain.
09:36 By Sweet Carol tells the story of a young woman seeking her best friend within a dark
09:41 and dismal world.
09:43 The gameplay is awfully familiar to titles like Clock Tower, while the environments and
09:47 animation are very much inspired by classic animated movies from Walt Disney and Don Bluth.
09:55 It is a game that simply does not look like anything else on the market, and we highly
10:04 recommend you keep this one on your radar and check it out when it releases on Steam
10:08 later this year.
10:18 Alone in the Dark
10:27 Alone in the Dark, the IP, saw a massive decline in popularity and relevance thanks to the
10:32 abysmal 2008 reboot and 2015's Alone in the Dark Illumination.
10:38 It's okay though, Atari can't hurt it anymore as the IP was sold off to THQ Nordic, and
10:44 that's why we're interested in this new title.
10:52 Alone in the Dark releases March 20th, 2024, and THQ Nordic has been pumping some money
10:58 into its development, almost to the same degree as Capcom with their Resident Evil games.
11:04 Whether it'll pay off or not is anyone's guess, but you can guarantee we will be there
11:08 at launch.
11:16 Which new horror game are you excited to play this year?
