00:00 How can I go to the Stadium of France?
00:02 (Speaking French)
00:07 As Paris welcomes the world for the Olympics this summer,
00:11 the city's public transport system, known as RATP,
00:15 will be using artificial intelligence
00:18 to help thousands of international visitors navigate through the capital.
00:23 The handheld Tradivia device can translate between French and 16 different languages,
00:29 including Mandarin, Arabic and Korean,
00:33 with text appearing on a screen as well as being read out loud.
00:37 The RATP will provide more than 3,000 agents with this device,
00:44 ready to assist all international visitors.
00:47 RATP representative, Gregoire Delastary.
00:54 The goal for us in Ile de France Mobilité is for them to travel in the best possible conditions
00:59 and therefore being able to speak to them in as many languages as possible
01:02 and helping them find their way in Paris is extremely important.
01:06 Metro workers like Raphael Cassette say the device gives them more confidence.
01:12 We no longer have this fear of thinking we're not going to understand each other.
01:17 Here we know straight away with regard to the languages
01:20 to press straight on Hindi and immediately have clear, more precise information
01:24 and we can be sure that when the visitors leave, they are satisfied.
01:28 The service will remain in Paris after the Games,
01:31 which will be held from July 26 to August 11.
