00:03 What was your reaction to the lion's second half meltdown?
00:08 Because I have to tell you, my language was deplorable in my house.
00:14 Thank God granny made shepherd's pie that night because if it wasn't for
00:18 that, I would have ruined the evening with all of my cussing and temper tantrums.
00:23 And it's not good as you know for my heart that just exploded and
00:27 I had a fake heart put in.
00:29 It's not good for me to be at a level 15 when it says I should be at a level seven.
00:34 And I'm screaming and yelling and turning purple and cussing at Dan Campbell.
00:38 >> Well, at least you know the comfort food that's gonna hit the right button
00:42 there to prevent that from happening anytime.
00:44 You know, just have that shepherd's pie like frozen,
00:47 ready to zap into the microwave at a moment's notice anytime a game's going
00:51 against you.
00:52 But for certain, I was shocked at how they gave up that lead,
00:56 especially because they had success running the football and
00:59 they are so good at running the football.
01:00 And you would have assumed that they could have continued to
01:03 run the football late in that game.
01:05 And I really think it came down to that fumble by Gibbs,
01:08 setting up that short field.
01:09 If there's no fumble by Gibbs, I don't think this game goes the same way.
01:13 I think the Lions are the team that we're talking about here,
01:16 advancing to the big game.
01:17 But instead, of course, it's the 49ers.
01:20 And look, I thought the 49ers dug themselves into a hole on their own
01:25 by running the ball far too much with Christian McCaffrey early on in this
01:29 game against such a great run defense of the Detroit Lions.
01:32 There was no need to do that.
01:33 And these runs ravaging like 2.9 yards per carry in the first half,
01:37 just mind boggling again, decision from Kyle Shanahan to come out with.
01:41 I know that, and we'll talk about it about when we break down the big game,
01:44 but we know that the 49ers are one of the most run heavy teams.
01:47 They're the second most run heavy team in the NFL.
01:49 But how do you not adapt your game plan when you're going up against a defense
01:52 that's horrific against the past, but excellent defending the run
01:56 like the Detroit Lions are?
01:57 So I thought the 49ers played a role, play calling wise,
02:01 digging themselves into the hole like they did early on in that game.
02:04 It certainly shows that this 49ers defense isn't as great, I think,
02:08 as some people think that it is, with the way that the Lions were
02:11 able to move the ball, especially Jared Goff playing outside,
02:13 playing outdoors.
02:14 Like there were all these discussion points about that
02:16 and how he was going to struggle mightily.
02:18 And this Lions team was moving up and down the field on this 49ers defense
02:22 early on in that game.
02:23 So unfortunate.
02:25 I mean, the Lions literally shot themselves in the foot in this one.
02:28 If they make one of those four downs, if they don't fumble the football,
02:32 like they're the team that we're talking about this week.
