00:00 Hello, Joe Nicholson from the Sunderland Echo here, following the end of the January transfer
00:07 window. In the end it was a busy final day of the window for Sunderland, although there
00:12 will be some frustration that the Black Cats weren't able to sign another more experienced
00:18 forward. They were trying to sign Bournemouth striker Kiefer Moore on loan, but in the end
00:24 he signed for championship rivals Ipswich on loan. In the end, Ipswich's greater financial
00:30 spending power was able to make that deal happen, with Town able to pay more of Moore's
00:36 wages to make that loan move from Bournemouth happen. Sunderland did manage to make two
00:41 new signings on the final day of the window though. They brought in winger Romain Mundel
00:47 from Standard Liège. He's a 20-year-old winger, predominantly he's played on the right-hand
00:52 side and he has joined Sunderland on a four-and-a-half-year deal. So another young signing being brought
00:59 into the club. Sunderland were also able to sign Barnsley midfielder Callum Styles. He's
01:05 a versatile midfielder, he's also played at left-back and he'll give Sunderland more options
01:12 in central midfield where they've been quite reliant on Dan Neal and Pierre Ecouart this
01:17 season. Styles signs on an initial loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season.
01:25 There have also been some outgoings on the final day of the window. Alex Pritchard has
01:30 left Sunderland, he's joined Birmingham on a two-and-a-half-year deal. He was into the
01:35 final six months of his contract at Sunderland, so Sunderland have allowed him to leave. He
01:42 of course withdrew from the squad ahead of Saturday's game against Stoke last weekend
01:48 and requested to leave the club, so that move's seeming to suit all parties there. There's
01:53 also been a couple of loan departures as well. Sunderland have allowed Eliza Maienda and
01:59 Nektaris Triantis to join Scottish side Hibernium on loan, both of them summer signings that
02:05 haven't played maybe as much minutes as they would have felt for the first team. So going
02:11 to Hibernium should allow them to get more senior football and more experience there.
02:16 Sunderland have also allowed Jay Matete to leave on loan to Oxford. Matete of course
02:21 had that knee injury in pre-season and has been out for a long period of time. He came
02:26 back last month around in December, but hasn't really been able to break back into the first
02:32 team. So he's gone out on loan to Oxford and hopefully he'll get some more first team football
02:36 there. So you can head over to the SFC section of the Sunderland Echo website to get all
02:42 the latest news and reaction to the end of the transfer window. We'll also have build-up
02:48 to Sunderland's away game against Middlesbrough coming up this weekend on Sunday.
